@ITVChase
There needs to be music chase. Play some tunes, from classic to modern.
£1k for title, £1k for artist
Then play parts of songs in main chase with questions on song, artist or whatever.
Get Bradley dancing! 🤣🤣

I’ve spent years talking about the need for hospitality to unite behind one clear ask. Over the last eight months I’ve pushed harder because I genuinely believe that without a united industry, a VAT cut simply won’t happen. The last couple of days have been significant.
For the first time Hospitality has finally united behind a common message.
Over the last couple of months the industry has come together there has been broad agreement around a simple principle: Hospitality needs VAT in line with Europe and we all need to get behind that. (Finally!)
Not ten different messages. One industry. One ask.
It was also a proud moment to have my statement read at the latest Hospitality Roundtable by the ever-supportive Hospitality champion @rosieduffieldmp_offi not to mention a lovely mention in the House.
Having spent years campaigning for this cause, it felt like big step forward in what has been a long journey.
That moment has arrived. The trade bodies have united and the brilliant @cheftomkerridge & @UKHofficial has spearheaded a new #VATsTheProblem campaign alongside all the major trade bodies.
The reality is that major change only happens when operators, trade bodies, suppliers, campaigners, politicians and influential voices come together behind a common purpose. That’s been our main aim.
Hospitality is the UK’s third largest employer. We create careers, support communities, drive tourism, fill our high streets and generate billions for the economy. Yet we continue to operate with one of the highest hospitality VAT rates in Europe.
That cannot continue forever.
For the first time everyone is moving as one and I genuinely believe the industry now has the momentum, support and unity needed to deliver meaningful change.
This campaign now needs every pub, restaurant, café, hotel, nightclub, attraction, supplier and hospitality professional to get behind it.
Because this is no longer about individual businesses.
It is about the future of hospitality itself.
It is no longer a question of if. It is a question of when.
United we stand. Divided we fall.

@kushika_twt Some people are just too smart!
I'd go a step further. Put on each pole, then solar powered so for some time of year in 24 hour sun!
Or do what musky says and stick em in space.
@peterkyle To be fair you didn't say improve. You said effect. So basically it's going to get worse.
Maybe leave hospitality alone now, go fuck up something else?
@scothospgroup So to be clear then you can offer "adults eat for a £1 with a full paying child" and the child menu being £25 for fish fingers.
Might be pushing it for chicken nuggets and a pint though.
@Porkyaskew@scousepete4@andyjlennox@pub_that The amount of pent up need for reinvestment must be billions. I've got equipment on its last legs, furniture that needs replacing, etc etc. but the £ isn't there.
This government has no idea about this sector or its cycle.
Proud to support the #VATsTheProblem@cheftomkerridge@ukhospitality campaign.
Hospitality is not asking for a handout. We’re asking for a level playing field.
Across much of Europe, hospitality benefits from a reduced rate of VAT because governments recognise the value the sector brings to jobs, communities, tourism and local economies. In the UK, we remain one of the most heavily taxed hospitality sectors in Europe despite being the country’s third largest employer.
Every pub, restaurant, café, hotel and hospitality business creates opportunities for young people, supports local suppliers and helps keep our high streets alive. We create jobs, drive tourism, generate investment and help build thriving communities.
A reduction in VAT to European levels isn’t about protecting profits. It’s about protecting jobs, supporting growth and securing the future of an industry that millions of people rely on.
If hospitality succeeds, towns succeed. The economy succeeds.
The industry needs to come together and make some noise. The more voices we have, the stronger our message.
One industry. One voice. One ask.
It’s time for the UK to recognise hospitality as the economic powerhouse it is.
Please support the campaign, sign the petition and share it with your teams, colleagues, suppliers and customers.

Booking a table at a restaurant and only asking for quiet music to be played is just so 2026.
By 2027 it will be "can you redecorate the place in earthy tonnes please otherwise you won't get my custom"
Saturday @ 11am.
If you ever wanted confirmation of how far this city has fallen under this council, here it is.
If you take out workers from those stats, it's a dead city. No wonder everything is struggling.
11am 20 years ago the place was buzzing. So sad.
@robsmith66 Europe is irrelevant. It just needs to be a lower rate for the reasons for THIS country and our own economic mayhem.
Europe has different rates for other things and it's not comparable.
@pub_that That's their M.O. isn't it. Either announce something stupid like the vat cut on theme park tickets you can get free from a packet of coco pops anyway, or announce a bonkers tax only to rethink it then pitch the u turn as though they doing you a favour.
And THEY even believe it
@hoffman_noa What the fuck was the point in this cadent gas pipes upgrade that's been causing endless mayhem and chaos everywhere.
This country is run so stupidly.
One more tax should do it.....
I don't benefit from CGT or higher rate but i do know that income tax is different to CGT so why compare it?
I work and pay tax on income i earn.
CGT is nothing to do with work so why compare?
