For decades, we have spent trillions to retrofit our cities, our public spaces and our society around cars.
It just didn't work.
If only we had an alternative.
If only...

@CyclingInASkirt Credit to you for remaining so calm. It’s clear the driver saw you and yet pulled out into your direct path regardless. In this instance I’d be shouting at the top of my voice despite it contradicting my character. Survival instinct takes over. People on bikes are so vulnerable.
@CycleTheWolds Thanks Chris, after straightening the brake lever I’m fortunately left with just a few scuffs on the bike & a swollen knee & wrist. Could have been worse!
Riding at night around my local lanes requires so much concentration, even with decent lights. The roads are beyond rough.
First ‘off’ of the winter. Hit a pothole, instant front-wheel puncture and in a split second I’m on the deck. The roads really are in a bloody awful state. Bit bruised, but at least the bike is OK.🫤

“There will never be clothing bright enough to make up for weak leadership”
Where’s leadership that says more than one child dying every week, is too many, and that it’s on the ADULTS to put things right? Why are so many schools silent on the issue? Why don’t more parents, care?
Chatted to a lovely gent in the Wolds today (when I eventually caught him up!) out for 30 miles on his e-bike. He was 75 years ‘young’ and so happy to get out for a decent ride in the sunshine. Bravo for the e-bike!

Press Officer @KateKampaigns talks to @ThatsTVYork about the long-term decline in cycling in #York.
We know the cause; more traffic, no improvements for cycling safety on most routes. Cyclists need safe #RoomToRide We will keep pushing for it.

This is horrifying @SouthWestWater! Shareholders profiteering at the expense of the environment. This must be stopped via legislation. #TorySewageParty
A grey and wet ride into the Wolds today only compensated by the fact that I almost had it all to myself. So quiet.
Got proper soaked, as way too warm for a waterproof - even a gilet. This worrying weather continues.

Thoroughly entertaining evening with @nedboulting in York last night. Informative, inspirational and really bloody funny! Thank you and good look on your windy ride to Ilkley.
