Just got a blue alert for something that happened in Channelview.
That community is east of downtown Houston, and a 3+ hour drive from Austin.

DPS, please geofence your alerts.

Of course I’m taking the week off and plan to fix a broken sprinkler head the same week I won’t need to water my lawn.

Can you pick out on this map where Hurricane Polo's moisture will be impacting the United States?

Trillions upon trillions gallons of rainfall will be dumped (from the sky) on millions and millions of people.

Get your gutters ready!

FALL begins on Tuesday! My annual tradition of extensive data analysis for the first day of the new season has arrived.

Study the map closely to see what your city will experience next week 🍂🤗 #txwx

UPDATE: Councilman Johnathan Coffman told me a resident’s open records request found nearly 460 agencies were tapped into the city’s Flock system.

He said only 80 agencies had city approval to do so.

Looks like data centers are “bringing their own power,” with all lines leading to Pecos Co, but Texas will be seizing private land for the transmission lines. Abbott knows all of this. His promises of a moratorium are political theater.

This is wild. Bastrop City Council held a meeting this morning OVER 100 miles away!

Conservatives have been running Texas since the mid 90s. It’s taken them THIRTY YEARS to get started?

[Sara McGee for Texas HD 132 @SaraForTexLege]

“We’re just getting started”?

Sir, may I ask what you’ve been doing for the last TWELVE YEARS?!

I don’t know who does the gov’s socials but they are doing a fantastic job. He’s getting hammered in the land of real names.

Maybe Congress should spend some time and energy passing legislation mandating that data centers have the lowest priority on power grids.

While this is on par with the president’s pettiness for those that don’t like him, it’s more aggravating that the NYT chose to publish this on a Friday afternoon so that it can get washed out of the news cycle before Monday.

[Kyle Griffin @kylegriffin1]

BREAKING NYT:

Federal officials said in court documents that they halted billions of dollars in funding for energy projects to states "based solely" on whether they backed Trump in the 2024 election.
