Please read my blog about why we need to start talking about getting on a path towards nuclear disarmament & not carry on blindly with current trajectory - towards nuclear modernisation & rearmament. Nuclear Education Trust’s report shows there are options https://t.co/e5kOo0B1Az
Pleased to have been support this important report including briefing Number Ten on the issue of why addressing low pay for caters delivers the Social Care Triple Win

Has to be said: there must be a ceasefire. We cannot in plain sight stand by as Gaza is razed to the ground and Palestinian civilians are collectively punished. I also abhor Hamas’ terror tactics and call for the release of the Israeli hostages
These queues at @JFKairport passport control are not acceptable - already an hour and probably three more @DHSgov . Why not employ more staff if @VisitNewYorkUSA want tourists to visit #NYC
Excellent blog from Hans Svennevig @IOE_London @uclpesig & @ellispoint0 quoting research& polling by independent charity Nuclear Education Trust ‘Nuclear disarmament education is needed now’ @RethinkingSecu1 @CNDuk https://t.co/kDxyWAGI7V

"It does seem to be the end game for leveling up. The question is whether Labour will take up that mantle, or will they go back to the language of poverty, inequality and social justice"? @Steve_BarwickPC
It really is a scandal that the plight of care workers - largely non-unionised & low paid women - aren’t a bigger part of current debate about health & social care sector pay. Despite 165,000 vacancies no action from @DHSCgovuk - need parity with healthcare assistants now (£15ph)
Great story @tobyhelm but shame you didn’t mention that @jeremy_Hunt@hmtreasury also supported strongly calls for the estimated 600,000 care workers on national living wage (aka minimumwage) to have an immediate wage rise @The_FSCC https://t.co/lfoEboT3lT
I worked for Alice from 1990 to 1993 after meeting at a Calderdale People Against the Poll Tax event I organised and she spoke at in Hebden Bridge in 1989. She believed in a fairer more equal society, was a tireless peace campaigner and strong supporter of trade unions. A sad day
Sorry to hear about the passing of Alice Mahon. I first met her in 2003 when I was at an NUS lobby of Parliament against tuition fees. She bought me lunch, feed me a doughnut and complaining about Tony Blair. She was powerful, articulate and a fighter for Halifax.
CND mourns the loss of Alice Mahon - a vice-president of CND and a powerful fighter for peace and justice, always on the side of the people. She will be much missed and never forgotten.
Alice Mahon was a lovely woman and a joy to deal with.
RIP a tireless campaigner for economic and social justice.
And she was right to oppose the Iraq War.
