@ElizabethGruhl#EDU6333 I wholeheartedly agree people learn through doing things. Tactile learning is one of the best ways to demonstrate skill and achievement. :-) I've always been the kind of person that like to try and figure stuff out.
@imiyapan@ElizabethGruhl#EDU6333 I'm definitely more willing to experiment with tools now. I love trying stuff out and seeing how my students react to it.
@LaurenC42893676 #EDU6333 Absolutely and there are so many tools out there to help us adapt education to where the kids are. It just takes time to investigate the resources.
I have learned that there are so many different ways to incorporate social media into the classroom but that with its use comes the responsibility to monitor its use and make sure that it's ethical. #EDU6333
#EDU6333 While I was looking around I was able to find this link with suggestions on how to protect student privacy on social media. It's pretty easy to read and straightforward. Definitely worth the read. https://t.co/nPjqfdQr6G
@imiyapan@AlexandraMunro3 RIGHT!!!!! Failing is integral to success...I have a book I use with my students and it highlights all of the failures of people we consider to be incredibly successful today!!! #EDU6333
@imiyapan I think assessments need to be revamped to be more useful. Assessment data will always be necessary I think it's how we use the data thats incredibly flawed!!! #EDU6333
#EDU6333 I think gamification has pretty big implications for education. I feel as though it will change kids perception of failing and allow them to not only learn how to fail but how to succeed through perseverance.
#EDU6333 So am not a digital gamer at all. I actually liked playing the labryinth game even though I failed miserably. But failing is part of life ha!!
@LaurenC42893676 #EDU6333 I feel like with sites like https://t.co/KGrs87Ns2p this is way more common now than it used to be. I've looked for lessons before especially when I didn't have time to create the materials myself.
I for one am very excited about creative commons and the level of openess and sharing it provides. In k-12 curriculum has been dictated by textbook companies and ETS for far too long. It's time to bring back free thinking!!! #EDU6333
@Melissa68445526 @LaurenC42893676 #EDU6333 Oh totally. We beg, borrow, and steal all the time. Now e even have things like teachers pay teachers to sell our own materials.
@MasiaNeu@imiyapan Unfortunately in secondary ed..."common sense" very rarely prevails. We have to be so specific in policy language to try and cover every possible situation. #bp6333Spr19#EDU6333
@ElleMHiggins The fear of the unknown is always valid and anxiety causing. I like to embrace change but when you don't even know what the change is how do you do that? #EDU6333
