@tomkektv And we've seen that tons of times across WoW, whether it's "Casual" players complaining that everything is amde for high end, at the same time as top 1% players complaining everything is made for casuals. This is just another extension of that.
@tomkektv Sure, but the flipside of that is public discourse, which. from my experience in the work I do, is almost universally 100% unrelated to what the general population of a given game/group actually wants. The "Loud Minority" is a very real thing.
@Xion_Derkavious@Aedrareforged@grigsbysworld The difference is that GW2 isn't a subscription model, which has an implicit buy-in, it always survived on people leaving and coming back and buying MTX, so a GW3 doesn't change that. Makes zero sense to make a WoW2 when it would just cause millions to go "nah" and bye bye money
@JLininson@Davethx Yeah, you absolutely can. You get a document from the ATO showing that your HECS is paid off, and your employer should then stop the payments.
@x42dsx@TravisV_YT Running an HDMI cable from your existing PC isn't a viable option for 99.99% of people because of distance, especially if they live with other people who would be unhappy about cables around the place. Also https://t.co/DHTrYiMD6w
@TravisV_YT@VinderTomat This doesn't really tell the whole story though, because the Steam Machine behaves more like a Console than a PC does. No other PC has the console experience of "Turn on via a controller, immediately get presented a big screen UI of your games, navigateable by controller"

@x42dsx@TravisV_YT Eh, if they've already got a Steam account and games on it(Which I feel is the target demographic for the Machine), then a PS5 Pro is worthless, because you'd need to buy all your games again. This isn't positioned to fight Consoles, but to get your existing games on the TV
@JamesOl03891147@sam_d_1995 If you stop going with the flow of traffic, and instead just follow the law, everyone else will get fines and speed limiters and you won't, easy :)
@CryptoVecna@Shpeshal_Nick There's a wide gulf between Legal Ownership, where you can do anything you want with an item, and which you've never had for video games, and Functional Ownership, where you can resell the item you've bought. He was talking about Legal, you're clearly talking about Functional
@starrdiver Many things run at the Kernel level, yes. Including a number of Anti-cheat programs. This newest change, however, is a windows security feature that blocks memory access, it's not a unique capability within Vanguard, nor is it malware in any capacity.
@deleriumtremend@DingoRabid@SharklettVT That section only applies if you count the temporary inability to access a device as "damage". The devices aren't broken, not even bricked, just inaccessible until you reinstall your operating system.
@cydristrasz@priestgf Are you suggesting that a sexual abuser wouldn't reference in-game assets as a comparison to real life people in a way that would make those people uncomfortable with that asset being in the game?
@evileboxyboo@DingoRabid@amorphous714 That level of control is only given to the Administrator of the system, so your stipulation is already in place. And the Administrator of the system hands over the keys to Vanguard when they install it and it asks for Admin permissions.
@priestgf@cydristrasz This wasn't the apology, this was the result from the apology. The apology was an internal Slack channel where (generally female) employees could raise concerns about items and content in the game that they had an issue with, and they took steps to rectify those issues
@MissMixi@JunnieVT It's an automatic system, it detects periods of unusual review activity and hides them. It works both ways, both hiding low effort "Fuck this company for using AI" reviews on Party Animals, and also Chud Right Wing "Game garbage so woke" reviews on Slay the Spire 2
@Hinketsuki They explain in the post that they removed tags which are trademarks/intellectual property of another company, which RPG Maker absolutely is.
@idisxiu Yup, absolutely. And while I get that some part of that is content bloating to make P5X longer to complete, I do appreciate having big Palaces to explore and fight through.
@idisxiu It's always a sobering/despair moment when you pick up a map inside a P5X Palace and see the 10000 square meter warehouse maze you're gonna need to clear ๐ฅฒ Game is good, and it feels like a "lobster too buttery" moment, but it's still overwhelming
