@MC_of_A Not sure if Madrid still take 50% of their players image rights, but there might be some wiggle room for Arsenal in lowering the wages if he gets more image rights back
@Malachians If City let Rodri go I can’t see them not asking for a swap from Madrid. They could end up with the Tchouameni + Anderson midfield we wanted
@StretfordPaddck Surely the most likely scenario is a Rodri swap deal for City? Tchouameni and Camavinga are far more likely to be open to going to City for big wages
@UtdYahz I will take 3 floor raisers that help us qualify for the Champions League multiple years in a row over one “marquee” signing surrounded by gaping holes in the squad. We bought Pogba and then gave him no help. Let’s not just keep repeating the same mistakes
@AliquamScripto@H4RRP Just comparing revenue ignores the realities of where the club is. Spending £120m on one player is fine if you only need one player. United need 3 midfielders, LB, ST, CB and more.
The club also wasn’t in £1.4bn worth of debt when the bought Rio
@Muppetiers He looked good positionally but I didnt see anything to suggest he has the physical attributes to cover for the weaknesses of Mainoo/Tielemans. I also worry that higher intensity pressing will cause him to turn over the ball because he doesn’t open up his hips. Early days though
@utdAdams "NONE of that trio has enhanced their reputation in the United States this summer. “
This is what is known as polite British understatement. The meaning is not that they should have enhanced their reputations, it’s to subtly tell you that their reputations were actually damaged
@UtdXclusive Mainoos world cup was essentially ended after the New Zealand friendly. Tuchel wants his instructions followed precisely - Kobbie is at his best when hes able to play on instinct. They’re simply incompatible.
@DylanMcbennett7 Men of a certain age see the game this way. Mike Phelan as Oles assistant was adamant that 6’s, 8’s and 10’s dont exist theres just central midfield players. The move to athletic ball carriers in response to systemised positional play is completely lost on them.
@suyashft Really interesting analysis. Do you have an opinion on why Sangare and Kone seem to have relatively low sprints per 90 and distance covered per 90? They are both seen as supreme athletes so what are they doing to demonstrate that if not sprinting or covering ground?
@Ankaman616 As a man of science Carl - please explain how he doesnt appear in the top 50 serie A defensive midfielders for distance covered per 90, sprints per 90 or top speed - but has the reputation for being this incredible athlete.
What does the eye see that the stats can’t capture?
@Kai_Gozo For years United had people in charge of recruitment who were genuinely useless so theres a lot of fans who cant get past the idea that they know better (because that used to be true).
They are interpreting the clubs moves as bad without even knowing how carrick plans to play
@UTD_Louie Personally I just dont buy the idea that hes injured. I think he was due to come to carrington for a medical, got called up and it got delayed. If there was any serious injury he wouldn’t have gone to the World Cup. Either way we’ll find out what happened on All or Nothing
@slbsn I guess we’ll see how it pans out but I thought they were looking at a similar plan to the Atlanta Braves who provided the land and created a joint venture (The Atlanta Battery) with developers in exchange for a share of the profits.
@SheneV98@videotech I also found it strange. GTA V collectors edition included GTA Online bonuses (cars, money etc). Makes me wonder if they’re planning to sell GTA Online as a separate game with its own editions.
