I wouldn’t go THAT far, but he was always corrupt. Launched a politically motivated tax investigation of Nixon during the 1952 campaign. He was so loyal he couldn’t consider that Nixon was right about the Hiss case. Definitely got outplayed by Stalin in the sense that he used the atomic bomb to intimidate him, and failed. Probably one of the lowest IQ Presidents. Hilarious attack dog, but almost a bit too neurotic. He’s a great character, I think people forget his post-presidency was so dour. He left office with numbers like Nixon or Bush. His library in YouTube is very funny, I saw an interview in the 50s where he insisted the North was more racist than the south, and that civil rights would happen when the moment was right lol
