We have written to Stephen Timms MP to share out latest report (https://t.co/t8oEWu4WNf) calling for data gaps to be filled and to explain our asks. Any response will be shared here.
The government should halt its cuts and reforms to Access to Work and commission new research to show exactly how important the scheme is to the disabled people who rely on it to stay working, according to a new report.

NEW REPORT - Access to Work cuts being made without any sound data. Deaf and disabled people losing work - this goes against the government’s rhetoric. https://t.co/siSV2fA69K

Our new report shows government lack any of the data needed to justify any changes to the Access to Work scheme - cutting support is not how you “get disabled people into work”! https://t.co/siSV2fA69K
Join the *Deaf and Disabled People Against Fascism* bloc on the #TogetherAlliance march on 28th March. We will be assembling from 11.30 am outside the Intercontinental Hotel, Park Lane. Hope to see you there! @NUBSLI@Dis_PPL_Protest
We are looking for new members of the Stop Changes To Access To Work group. If you are a deaf or disabled person and would like to get involved in the campaign, please email: [email protected]
BSL interpreters or support workers are also welcome to join and support.
Unfortunately, late payments (as reported in @Limping_Chicken) are nothing new. All these are issues we raised in our recommendations and Barriers to Work report that we launched in 2017. Read them here: https://t.co/da3IsEVAfB.
@hccath @BSLterplife@DWP@guardian@BBCNews@BBCWatchdog@NUBSLI The system has been set up so that the contract is with with the Deaf/disabled person not AtW. This means interpreters taking Deaf people to court. This is also how they can avoid late payment fees. Unfair on AtW users, interpreters and support workers.
Massive congratulations to @jerseysnail @FryLegal and all the #WhereIsTheInterpreter team. The Cabinet Office uawfilly discrimated for not providing #BSL access. Full details here: https://t.co/Xv7WoFm856
