Prediction: AI first real dividend to human knowledge will NOT be stem related but rather a breakthrough in our understanding of the human soul.
It can come in the form of AI proving by contradiction that the human language cannot be explained through Darwinian lens. Needless to say, the ramifications of such discovery are enormous.
Fork your dependencies, trim them to only your use case, never update unless it breaks for your users. I’ve been vocal about this for 10+ years. I’ve always said that updating is way riskier than latent bugs (which can be tracked and CVEs monitored).
If you are updating a dependency, it’s on you to analyze every single commit in the full transitive set of dependencies. If you dont see anything compelling, dont update!
I remember at HashiCorp once in awhile an engineer would try to update a dep or replace a DIY lib with an external one and id always ask “show me the commit we need.” Dont update for the sake of it.
Feeling pretty swell about this mentality with all the supply chain attacks happening.
A sperm cell contains about 37.5 megabytes of information and there is about 100 million cells per milliliter.
The average ejaculation is about 2.25 milliliters and takes about 5 seconds.
This makes the average bandwidth of the human penis 1,687 terabytes per second.
I know....thats a lot of information to swallow.
In March 1948, Frank Sinatra helped Teddy Kollek, a Haganah representative (and future Jerusalem mayor), smuggle an estimated $1 million in cash to a New York pier to pay for arms destined for the nascent State of Israel. Sinatra acted as a courier to bypass FBI surveillance, ensuring the money reached a ship captain for undercover operations.
I find it insane that people proudly declare, "I support Israel's right to exist," as though existence itself is a privilege that must be debated or granted.
Do you ever hear anyone say they support France's right to exist? Japan's? America's? Any other nation on Earth?
No. Because no country besides @Israel is forced to justify its existence to the world.
When politicians make this statement, people applaud them like they just made some brave moral statement. They didn't. They stated something so basic it should never have to be said in the first place.

Conclusion: if your goal is less wars and bloodshed, then stopping a war halfway without a conclusion will most certainly lead to an even uglier war soon thereafter with surrender thresholds reset, which means you just killed people for no purpose which is disproportional and evil!
