A bit about myself:
I don’t like the right.
I don’t like the left.
If your capitalism is so great, why do you have layoffs affecting tens of percent of the workforce?
If your communism is so great, why are communist countries consistently among the poorest countries in the world?
I don’t like radicals. Any kind.
I’m originally from Russia (though I haven’t lived there for several years).
My gender matches my sex - male.
Sexual orientation: the most masculine one - I’m gay.
I love science with all my heart (though I’m probably too stupid to pursue an academic career).
I don’t like religion. Any religion. But I think that’s your business, and it’s fine as long as you don’t forbid me from joking about it (and you’re free to joke about me in return).
1) The employment rate among immigrants with work permits is practically the same as that of Germans, according to statistics.
2) A nuance: Newly arrived refugees are prohibited from working for the first three months (I don't know why, it's a bit stupid).
3) The housing crisis also affects countries almost without Illegal immigrants.
The thesis about unemployed illegal immigrants would be correct if they weren't working. Statistics show the opposite if you read it correctly (excluding people who are temporarily legally prohibited from working).
Did you get all this from the media?
Yes, there are problems, including with migration, but the quality of life is still high. And Europe's main problems aren't at all related to what you're probably thinking.
This might surprise you, but the crime rate in the EU is still much lower than in the US. A nuance: there is a problem with thefts in tourist cities, but that's not surprising. In US tourist cities, the rate can be even higher.
The main problems in the EU right now are: Tax policy, bureaucracy, and housing affordability issues. Migrants don't have much of an impact here.
Not everyone.
People mostly come to the US to make money, because the market itself is rich and you can extract huge sums of money from US residents.
You can have a good standard of living in the US, and the country is beneficial for that if you're a billionaire.
If you look at the surveys, all of Europe beats the US in terms of "where everyone wants to immigrate."
The US is for business, Europe is for life.
Insulin isn't considered an innovative drug.
The US is practically the only country with such high prices, and I think this is largely due to the "non-interference clause", which explicitly forbade the government from interfering with drug prices, even from negotiating discounts. Which is literally anti-capitalist.
AI has made insane progress in coding/science.
The good news: I can quickly test all of my amazing ideas.
The bad news: it turns out most of my ideas are shit.
@AlexKontorovich LLM answers are stochastic, Mathematica "answers" are deterministic.
In some cases this is not critical, in others it is extremely so.
@kara_koyash Когда меня девушки пытались клеить, я конечно чувствовал неловкость, но она почему то не выливалась в "такое отношение". Почему, интересно.
It's quite funny that many people are still talking about AGI.
You don't really need such tests to understand that we are still far from creating AGI, or at least some kind of AI with consciousness.
The funniest place to see this is in coding. These models often lose sight of the overall objective and end up proposing solutions that are directly opposed to the goals of the code.
@CDU_CSU_EP@EPPGroup@CDU@CSU How about banning the supply of components for military equipment to Russia?
Or does a factory owned by someone like Deripaska pose less of a threat than tourists?
