Universities are one of the biggest rentier institutions worldwide - they have exorbitant salary costs, pay themselves way above what similar "value" would earn in a competitive market and the product (the qualifications) are not only of questionable worth and little value compared to the input salary cost, but that same "education" could be offered at a fraction of the cost in a more effective way using AI-based delivery. In short, this is one of the biggest cons against society little better than outright thievery. I saw it first hand for 16 years.

What a stupid comment. If South Africans want to make money then open up shops like all the entrepreneurial immigrants. And ask why the government has not, in 25 years, created the environment for mass job creation in the country. And why the education system delivers worse education than under Apartheid so that even university graduates are all but unemployable.
