I'll be at this next G.G.smash, so this is your opportunity to take out your UltRank algo frustrations on me (you won't find it very difficult to do so lol)
luugi above raru so that raru gets etish (someone he's already lost to in Japan this year and who you should probably avoid for conflicts) -> crepe and luugi gets ryukai into gluto
Masterful Rigging. 10/10 No Notes
Fairly sure the patch is to fix the exploit that's been going around Japanese quickplay for months that would tempban you for matching with users using the exploit. JP smash has been clamoring for a fix for months, it just never made its way overseas.
@PharaohSSB I think it's more population density, a plane ticket in the US for the equivalent distance between Tokyo and Osaka isn't that much more expensive than a Tōkaidō shinkansen ticket (and historically would have been cheaper probably)
Making the TTS more accurate means placing a greater emphasis on who in the top 25 is at something but that means more of TOs trying to increase their event value by catering to a small set of often flaky players instead of focusing on other aspects of their events.
The thing about both sides of TTS complaints is that both problems ("fake majors/supermajors" and TO complaints about what it takes to get major status) feel diametrically opposed, ie trying to make one better exacerbates the other.
@TheThiefOfLight To clarify it's not that they *only* kick in if you get a strong win; there's a baseline amount that you always get for outplacing someone, and then depending on your best wins at an event you get even more than that.
@KryZenDesigner@AnonymousBadge3@Maister_SSB This used to be the case all the time in the algorithm but is far rarer after I redid how outplacements are calculated last year. For instance, your specific example is wrong; Zomba got a 124 for Genesis but Sonix got a 140.
