@AngelaRayner Public sector pay rises below the rate of inflation so a pay cut. How does that boost workers pay? Public sector workers are workers as well.

@bphillipsonMP @educationgovuk With all this new content, what do you suggest schools stop teaching? Critical thinking is probably on the list. How can you respond to a lack of teachers in some areas by dumbing down the content?

@bphillipsonMP How precisely are schools to find the money to fund pay rises from existing budgets? Will you select the support staff who will lose their jobs? If MPs pay rises can be fully funded, why can't school staff pay rises?

@dofo2hp @Strickomaster Higher will be grades 6 to 9, intermediate 4 to 7 and foundation 1 to 5. No more teachers needed, no additional time needed but the government get to look good

@dofo2hp @Strickomaster I suspect that we will see the introduction of a 3 tier system in science. Higher, intermediate and foundation. Higher will be the existing triple content, intermediate the existing double content and foundation. ?/1

@Oldmanteacher1 @Strickomaster @BarryNSmith79 As noted elsewhere, schools need their core purpose stated explicitly and to be allowed to fulfil it without outside interference from a government wonk whose last experience of school was sixth form in a minor public school.

I stress that my school is a good place to work but the MAT has no appreciation of context and how well we are actually doing in comparison with our local (comparable) competition. I'm weary, I'm tired and will probably call it a day in a couple of years - if I last that long...

Its true what they say - when its time to stop teaching you know. I don't think that I'm there - yet - but I'm tired. Tired of learning walks, tired of being told what to do by people who weren't born when I started teaching. 1/?

I ask how these initiatives benefit the children, how insisting on everyone getting something before moving on is incompatible with covering all content when teaching a SEND class where the average reading age is 9... 10/?
