@SparkingFIRENC Decreases the value of the dollar against foreign currency and there is almost zero products that do not use some sort of part or chemical from other countries which would result in the price going up.
@JuneH79@SchizoLLC@presjpolk If you have a realistic method of fixing the system without leaving millions of seniors high and dry, I would love to hear it.
@JuneH79@SchizoLLC@presjpolk There is not many Gen Z that are self employed, there is not that many millennials that are self employed either. We should cut income tax and increase SS to keep us where we are and fix the gap.
@JuneH79@SchizoLLC@presjpolk 6% is not that much to donate to the cause, also I have recently raised 3 children and it is nowhere near that much per month to raise them. I oppose most taxes but this is not one of them.
@Palmerizer2@Mike1Moran@Leia1492 I am completely aware of the demographics and your data is off. I am also aware that most of the baby boomers will be dead within the next 10 years.
@SchizoLLC@presjpolk It is more of an appreciation plan, we pay for the people that built every convenience in our life to retire comfortably. Your parents paid for everything for you for 18+ years, helping them out in their last 18 is reasonable.
@marcba I am a proficient coder, but why would I not use a tool that no longer requires me to bang out FOR loops and simple conditional statements for thousands of lines?
@Leia1492 Crazy to see so many young people that freeloaded off of their parents for 18 years complain about helping them out in their last 18 years. This new disdain for those who built everything they stand on is a cancer to our society.
@Silily_Agent@Reniec7@Leia1492 You are paying for YOUR dad/mom and grandpa/grandma. It is appreciation for them building this world you live in. You are extremely comfortable with all of the modern conveniences because of the work the previous generations did to build it.
@SherryBrower2@mechapreneur@S7WHp@Palmerizer2@Leia1492 Not true, I paid those fees to contribute to that employees retirement and considered it as part of their pay package. It was also a net loss as the reduction in taxable amount is not offset 1 to 1.
@Palmerizer2@Mike1Moran@Leia1492 That is how the system works, every generation pays for the previous one to retire comfortably in the end of their life. Now that it is your turn to pay for the previous generation it is a problem and you scream from the rooftops that the system should no longer work that way.
There has always been a tradeoff between performance and readability, that metric has still not changed. Writing code in low level languages that provide direct memory access without garbage collection is more performant. We went to object oriented programming to be easier to code, but data oriented programming is significantly more performant.
@CrankyAmerican Seems the younger crowd thinks the current situation is the older crowds fault, but they do not want to take accountability for their voting.
