@firecracker36 The mindset that the government can’t function without billions more every year is the problem. If you look at the numbers there is more than enough.
This mindset of the government can’t function without billions more in taxes every year is the real mental trap. If you look at the reality of the numbers most local governments have more than enough. A sales tax hike is unlikely but would still be a better option because it’s consumption based, you can opt out or cut back vs having to pay no matter what.
@CarlosGSmith The burden needs to be on the government to figure it out, not the taxpayers. Passing this bill will hold the localities accountable by forcing them to be fiscally responsible.
@MayorDaniella Explain why it is that Miami Dade Services cost that much? The burden needs to be shifted from the tax payers figuring out how to do more with less to the government figuring out how to do more with less.
@DarrigoMelanie Asking for more money is only appropriate when you have proven to be fiscally responsible. The government is wasting billions, focus on how the money is being spent instead of class warfare rhetoric.
As a Florida resident, the overly litigious nature of the state is one of the largest problems that needs to be addressed. Unchecked this will inhibit growth and continue to fuel the rise of sky high insurance premiums… just waiting for the billboard… I got $200 million from Tesla.
@TeslaBoomerMama I think the proposals will pass by a wide margin. That said I don’t think you can just take IP owned and developed by Tesla to a private company without a massive legal battle.
Florida is a very founder, business, consumer, and investor-friendly state, the reason @ARKInvest moved from NYC to St. Pete. A big shoutout to @ChrisSpencerFL and Team at the Florida State Board Administration for leading the way, 180 degrees AWAY from ISS and Glass-Lewis!
