Ethiopia's second Tigray war is being fought on seven fronts, and Abiy Ahmed's army can only be on one. Our new analysis on why the battle for Mekelle will be decided everywhere except Mekelle and why the arithmetic favors the TPLF.

If the TDF leaves Mekelle with its full forces without firing a single shot, it could be a calculated and strategic move especially if the objective is to spare civilians from the destruction that could follow an urban battle. But the bigger question remains: what will the TDF do next with its forces intact?Nobody knows yet. We will watch closely. There are no free lunches and no free entrance. Every move has a price, and the next chapter may reveal the strategy.
By now, it is very clear to anyone that Abiy’s salivation for Assab is dead on arrival (Still-Born). He cannot even look in the direction of Assab, let alone march towards it. His greedy and childish political maneuvers have put #Ethiopia in a precarious quagmire that could take decades and skilled leadership to mend.
However, time seems to be working against Ethiopia’s national interest. The longer Abiy persists with his wicked and dangerous games, the longer it will take to restore any semblance of a viable nation-state.
Kenya is beginning a crackdown on foreign nationals operating small retail shops and engaging in hawking.

Former Sudanese Security Service chief Salah Gosh has reportedly relocated from Cairo to Asmara, sources tell Ayin, signaling Burhan's deepening ties to Eritrea. One source links the move to a UAE legal case over intercepted arms shipments tied to Gosh. Reports suggest Burhan met Gosh on his last Eritrea visit.

News Analysis: #Fano leader says armed groups have formed coalition to work toward ‘fall of Abiy Ahmed’
Zemene Kassie, chairman of the Amhara Fano National Movement (#AFNM), says Fano has established a unified command structure and reached agreements with armed groups representing several #Ethiopian communities to coordinate against Prime Minister #Abiy_Ahmed’s government.
In a rare interview with #Swiss French-language daily Le Temps, Zemene said Fano factions from #Shewa, #Wollo and #Gonder, as well as groups operating in the #Wollega area of #Oromia, had been brought under what he described as a “single national movement” and “single command.”

ETHIOPIA — 🚨 Nine armed groups in Ethiopia have reportedly formed a united resistance front, according to comments by TPLF Chairman and Tigray regional leader Debretsion during a brief interview with local journalists.
Although details about the reported “𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗿𝗲𝘁 (ጥምረት),” or the alliance of forces, remain unclear at this early stage, it is believed to involve the TPLF, Amhara Fano, the OLA, and Afar’s Uguugumo, among others.
It remains unclear whether the disclosure was a deliberate leak or a formal announcement.
Nevertheless, it could signal a significant development in Ethiopia’s political and security landscape, amid growing calls for an end to Abiy Ahmed’s incompetent leadership.
Kenya must stop pretending that Somali rearmament is a distant matter. How can any serious nation watch a neighbour rebuild its army while the greater part of that neighbour’s population still sits inside our borders? The danger is not theoretical.
A state that has not first gathered its own people and stabilised its own house has no right to arm itself beside us. Every weapon collected while their population remains here is a potential threat to our peace. Kenya cannot continue in softness. The question is no longer diplomatic courtesy ,it is national survival. Either we demand clarity and control now, or we will pay later in blood and instability. The choice is still ours, but not for long.

Over the past 20 years, the center of fast economic growth has shifted significantly toward Asia and Africa’s frontier markets.
For instance, Ethiopia, at the top of the growth rank, posted triple-digit growth, albeit from a low GDP base, with rapid infrastructure buildout and market liberalization. Great to see the other large East African economy, Kenya, at No. 8. Illustrates the rise of Africa.
China proves size is no ceiling: it’s already the 2nd-largest economy on Earth and still grew 734%. Vietnam and Bangladesh confirm the “new manufacturing floor” story as export-driven industrialization pulled both from under $100B to near half a trillion.
Iraq, Qatar and Kazakhstan’s surge is largely driven by earnings from oil and gas.
Notably absent: the developed economies, including the world’s largest economy the US, and others such as UK, Japan, and most of Western Europe. They all grew, but nowhere near at the pace of the top 15. Japan’s economy actually shrank in dollar terms over the same 20 years.
