Cuts Kill. Without proper funding in the fire service, firefighters won't be able to reach an incident in time to save lives.
The FBU is calling for an end to the cuts and immediate investment in recruiting, retaining and training crews.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

We're facing a mental health crisis in the fire and rescue service. Along with the trauma of responding to incidents, firefighters are also dealing with:
📌 Budget cuts leaving firefighters overworked
📌 Stagnant wages forcing firefighters to take second jobs
📌 The constant threat of developing cancer and other serious illnesses

A recent inspection revealed toxic leadership culture within Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service. FBU Suffolk brigade chair Phil Johnson told BBC Radio Suffolk this morning: "The FBU have been raising these concerns with senior leadership for over a year and a half now and nothing has been done."
Congratulations to Dave on White Watch, Princes Street on receiving his 25 year membership certificate and badge! Thanks for all you've done over the years Dave!
What a Brigade Committee meeting! We welcomed long term reps and brand new reps today to our biggest and most active BCM, discussing and solving members and brigade issues. It's great to have reps coming forward from every corner of the county. @EasternFBU@fbunational
