MSEA WAJIR PROMOTES BUSINESS FORMALIZATION AND SUSTAINABLE ENTERPRISE GROWTH FOR ECOSEC BENEFICIARIES
MSEA Wajir, in collaboration with the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), conducted a sensitization and business formalization forum for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) supported under the Economic Security (ECOSEC) Project in Wajir County. As part of the project's exit and sustainability strategy, 200 MSMEs that benefited from conditional cash grants are being linked to financial institutions and business development service providers to support their continued growth. Entrepreneurs from Diif, Dadajabula, Gerille, and Handaki East are gaining access to enterprise development services, business mentorship, financial literacy, market linkages, and financing opportunities, including Sharia-compliant financial products. The forum also highlighted the importance of business formalization in enhancing credibility, improving access to financial services and government opportunities, and promoting long-term sustainability. MSEA remains committed to strengthening small businesses through capacity building, business formalization, and enterprise development services that contribute to economic growth and job creation in Wajir County. #EmpoweringMSEs @DrOparanya@SusanAMangeni@CoopsandMSMEs@MSMEs_KE@JamesMureu@HRithaa@WajirKE

@KenyaRedCross response teams are deployed across the country to support communities respond to and recover from the effects of the floods.
This is the reality communities face from climate risks.
Same country.
On one side, extreme drought with 3.3 million people facing food insecuirty and requiring food assistance. On the other side, flooding displacing thousands due to high rainfall.
@KenyaRedCross continues to discharge its auxilliary role to complement the work of GOK in supporting communities respond to, mitigate and adapt to climate risks.
In Habaswein, Wajir, a livestock health intervention has been rolled out to protect sheep and goats affected by the ongoing drought.

The exercise includes vaccination against Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR), deworming, treatment of infections and advisory support to pastoralists, safeguarding livestock and the livelihoods that depend on them.

How many more have to die for the world to register it's outrage?
Heart broken.
Our condolences and support from @KenyaRedCross extended to our colleagues from @PalestineRCS.
We feel your pain. We register our outrage.
The death, destruction and suffering in #Gaza must end now.
In complete agreement with @ICRC President @ICRCPresident.
Unacceptable.
We are staring at "a collective failure to preserve humanity..."
During times of crisis and uncertainty, we choose to support humanity by providing hope, relief, and solidarity to those who need it the most. Humanitarian action must remain neutral, independent, and impartial.

Our aid workers were killed and thrown into a mass grave in Gaza. Our staff’s red uniforms should have protected them. Instead they became their death shrouds.
This should never happen again. For the sake of humanity.
