Some private hospitals pay 35k for nurses, and 30k or 35k is also paid for security personnel. The nurse and the security guard receive the same pay, or almost the same.

In this 2024, Nigerian nurses are still being asked to clean and aweep their work place, cut grass, and even carry gallon to go and buy fuel.
In this 2024, most tertiary hospitals still uniclsh nurses by using night shifts and other barbaric methods.
In some private hospitald, nurses are punished by having 5 to 10k deducted from their salaries (a salary that may not be up to 40k).
The NMCN and NANNM have not done anything about this. The profession is supposed to be independent and autonomous. However, this is not the case.

Nigerian nurses demand are simple:
-Reopen the portal
-Verification should not last more than 48hrs and must be free
-We don't need letter from CMD to be verified
@Nigeria_NMC is that too much to ask?
Nurses deserve better!
We endured so much during training, no holidays, a crashed 5 years program that leaves you with no room to do any other thing. And on top of all these we still have to endure humiliation and condescension while working.
Nurses deserve better!
