A resolution was passed during the 9th Annual General Body Meeting of NMMTA, condemning the vicious actions of the UG board of NMC against teachers holding medical MSc PhD qualifications. It calls upon the government to compel the NMC to amend the TEQ & MSR2023 guidelines, replace the biased UG board, and revise the NMC Act to include 50% non-doctors on all NMC boards.

We don't intend to generalize; yes, there are bright medicos excelling in non-clinical specialties, but what about the rest?

What about those who take up these specialties due to poor rankings in competitive exams, as a consolation after years of frustrated attempts to secure clinical seats, or because qualifying percentiles have been lowered as low as 15%? Some opt for these specialties because bonds have been waived, fees reduced, or there are completely free seats with stipends. They didn't choose these seats out of a love for the subject. How committed are they?

We won't comment on how dissertations are produced and exams cleared. Passing exams and securing assured jobs by eliminating competition! How convenient!!

You may hoodwink the naive and gullible, but those within the system know quite well that this is a political agenda to fill non-clinical PG seats and assure jobs to one's own community. Everything else is a toolkit of lies and misinformation.

Sadly, @NMC_IND, the regulator of medical education, is behaving as a proxy association of medicos, aiding them in securing teaching jobs. It's not the NMC's role to ensure the filling of PG seats or to provide jobs to doctors; let market conditions dictate.

Let individuals with MD and medical MSc qualifications compete, and let the better-qualified candidates secure the jobs. Still fearful to compete??

Have you witnessed this in practice? Altruism and ethics are fashionable but mythical concepts that are rarely seen.

The non-clinical medicos are hell-bent on destroying the careers and lives of MSc/PhD teachers.

What altruism??? Forget altruism, there isn't an iota of goodwill.

And, these people will be teaching altruism to the first year MBBS students in foundational course. Teach one thing and do exactly the opposite? How do they go to bed with such a conscience?

If building your monopolised empire upon destroying us is your greatest contribution, the shame is upon you. There is no glory in this.

Trusting that the @MoHFW_INDIA would exhibit geniune altruism that this profession couldn't. @mansukhmandviya
