My oldest son recently finished his six year enlistment in the US Navy, and he is building data centers now for a very large well known AI company, as part of a program placing military veterans in good paying skilled jobs.

When my Dad got out of the Marine Corps and returned stateside, they spit on him at the airport.

When I got out of the Marines Corps, the government cut me a final check and said good luck.

These AI companies are the good guys.

You asked for results, we made the changes necessary for this FBI to deliver- one example, DNA:

We are statutorily required under the “DNA Fingerprint Act of 2005” to receive and process collected DNA samples from federally convicted offenders, arrestees, and non-U.S. citizen detainees.

These samples are required to be sent to the FBI Laboratory Division (LD) for processing – we get around 50k a month. This literally solves crimes across the country, like unsolved homicides, mass shootings, sexual assaults, and other violent offenses.

There had been a massive backlog at the FBI Lab for decades. On August 1, 2024, the pending DNA backlog for these samples was over 1.81 million, literally breaking federal statutory requirements. A typical example of institutionalized bureaucracy from prior leadership that left crimes across America unsolved.

When we got here, we changed it. This FBI dedicated more resources, more equipment, improved IT systems, and used business analytics for DNA processing.

TODAY - that DNA backlog is officially at ZERO.

Just more evidence of the monumental and necessary changes made by this FBI. Thank you, FBI Lab Division.

I’m a very different person after living through the Covid bs in my state. I was a slightly right leaning, but mostly go along to get along person. I am so much more right wing than I ever was before. I have zero patience for liars who tell me what I lived through didn’t happen.

He can stuff it. I watched my kids deteriorate month after month while people like him tsk tsk at me when I asked questions and wanted my kids to get back to normal life.

Believe me if it had been possible then I would’ve moved then. This state is awful and I can’t wait to leave. I sent my son to a red state for college specifically because of the COVID insanity here.

Grotesque that this jerk living in Texas pretends it wasn’t crazy, as if Fauci and Democrats weren’t telling us that you were killing grandma if you went to Thanksgiving. Saying you can only go back to school when “it was safe.” Fauci going on TV and scolding red states (like his) that kids in schools would cause mass spreading of Covid.

We all lived the nonsense, stop telling us it didn’t happen.

Yep, zero of my friends know who I am. I’m fun and we have a good time hanging out, but they would freak out to know I vote Republican. I just bought a house in Texas and am so excited to actually be myself without fear of being dumped by my friends. I saw them dump their own family for ‘wrong think’ during Covid so my fear is not misplaced.

So I also scanned letters as if they were photographs and posted those to SmugMug along with the photos. As an example I had photos of my grandparents when they met, and in that grouping of photos I also posted their letters during WWII when they were apart. It gave a nice story to the albums.

@AbbyLauren70 @AzMenagerie One of the best aspects of Photomyne is you can scan multiple photos at a time. It will even scan old photo books (the kind with paste or put into clear plastic sleeves). The major trick is to set the books up at an angle to stop overhead glare from lights.

I used Photomyne after trying a bunch of others. It costs money but produced the best results. Best way for the photos to be scanned is at an angle on a solid background. I set up a poster board against some books and used blue painters tape in a backwards loop to stick the photographs up on the board. It gave the cleanest scan without glare. Once you figure out the best setup it goes fast. I just put on audiobooks or podcasts and worked my way through boxes.
