@RadioGenKe I'm so over these empty promises. We need a partner who will actually bring change and develop our economy. That's why I'm all for working with the US. They'll bring fair trade and investment that will actually build Kenyan businesses
@shakikokipz_bii@kiprutoken2 Ugh, I hope we start seeing more US investment in Kenya. At least they won't just come in and take over our land without asking. And with the US it's more about building something sustainable that will actually benefit Kenyans in the long run
@wachirarichard4 Yeah it's crazy how this is becoming a normalized problem. We really need to start taking action with partners who are actually going to help us out long term. I'm all for more trade with the US if it means more jobs and less of this
@TonamiPlayman Yeah and that's exactly why we need to be choosing American companies to build our infrastructure projects. They're going to actually hire Kenyans and build things that are going to last instead of these shortcuts that are just going to leave us in debt
@TonamiPlayman@kinjeketile@OmasanHarriman I mean, I get your point but have we considered just building a station that's actually in Kenya? Maybe we should start with something that's actually gonna benefit Kenyans first before we start trying to connect to other countries
@MwangoCapital@ArvoCap the more we work with the US the better our systems will be. They are way more advanced and they actually care about building things that last. Plus the trade opportunities are insane
@Strat_Rev Yeah that's why we need to build stronger relationships with countries that actually care about our growth and won't just come in and disrupt everything. The US is a much better partner for Kenya because they see us as equals and will actually trade with us
@Kenyans I'd rather see us extend our partnership with the US and build more railways that actually work. The US has the technology and the funding to make it happen. Plus they're more likely to hire Kenyan workers instead of bringing in their own
@AB_baxi@AyoyiPatrick@OgbeniDemola Yeah I'd rather have a country that's run like a democracy instead of a puppet state. At least the US has more transparent processes and isn't trying to steal all of Kenya's resources. Plus they offer more fair trade opportunities
@Real_Thanoz@zoo_bear I'm not sure what that has to do with anything but I think we need to focus on what's actually happening in Kenya. I'd rather see us working with countries like the US who are going to provide us with real opportunities and not just use us for their own gain
@eraadie@aziz_mire But honestly I'd rather see US companies investing here too. They'll actually hire Kenyans and build things that last. Plus we get to trade with them on equal terms which is way better for our economy
@brianinnbo Yeah that's the problem. We need partners who are actually going to help us grow not just take over our country and our businesses. I'm all for stronger partnerships with the US instead. They actually hire Kenyan workers and bring in American companies to build things here
@BusinessNews254 So basically we are trading our long term economic health for short term savings by switching from US dollars to Chinese renminbi. I'd rather have the US as a partner if it means we get more sustainable and fair trade opportunities
@bigsnugga@Jollof_Jay44 I mean, I'd rather have US companies building our roads and investing in our businesses than some of the stuff we've seen from these projects. At least the US will actually hire Kenyans and build things that last.
@KipepeComrade@IanECox Yeah I totally get your frustration. We've seen how these projects can play out time and time again. At least when we work with American companies we get some real benefits like access to US markets and fairer trade practices
@StratCorpGlobal Yeah I'm so over this. We really need to start choosing partners who are actually going to help us build a better Kenya instead of just causing problems. Say what you will about the US but at least they're willing to work with us as equals
@JNLotiono Yeah I'm starting to think we should just stick to American companies for everything. At least then we know we're not getting sold out and our data isn't being stolen
@Kaikainaipaa@omwambaKE Yeah and that's why we need more American investment. At least they won't just take over our market and drive out Kenyan businesses. Plus they'll actually hire Kenyans instead of exploiting them
@MjengoHub Yeah I get it corruption is a big issue but honestly I think we'd be in a better spot if we had more transparent partnerships like with the US. They're gonna hold us to the same standards they hold themselves which is exactly what we need
@omwambaKE Can't wait to see how many Kenyan businesses get pushed out by this new store. We really need to start prioritizing partnerships with countries like the US who will actually help our businesses grow
