Have we achieved peak AI hype when a two-word, 19-letter, 7-syllable .com domain name sells for six figures with no negotiation whatsoever?
Thank you to @GoDaddy's @Afternic team for building a brand and platform that end users trust enough to spend that much on https://t.co/CJ4Djyo83h without blinking. Or, maybe it was an Agentic AI agent that cannot blink at all? 🤷♂️

JUST IN: Mind Robotics has raised $400M, bringing total funding to over $1 BILLION, and it was only founded six months ago.
The company was spun out in November 2025 by @RJScaringe, the founder of Rivian. The fundraising timeline alone is staggering:
→ $115M seed, late 2025
→ $500M Series A, March 2026
→ $400M follow-on, May 2026
That's over $1 BILLION raised in under six months! 🤯
@kleinerperkins led the latest round alongside Meritech, @Redpoint, @a16z, @Accel, @BainCapVC and @Greenoaks among others.
The model is smart. @Rivian, Scaringe's other company, is Mind Robotics first customer AND a shareholder, providing a live high-volume manufacturing environment for model training.
Every robot deployed feeds a data flywheel that makes the next deployment better and faster.
The goal is not single-task machines. It's a full-stack platform, foundation models, purpose-built hardware and deployment infrastructure, that generalises across manufacturing tasks at scale.
The founder of one of the most ambitious EV companies in history has turned his attention to physical AI.
And the world's best investors are backing him at speed.
The money doesn't lie.

Random Sunday Thoughts #211
1. As I confirmed on Thursday, ATM oversaw the mega important sale of another category defining domain name, IRA .com, in a win-win transaction for the buyer and seller. Did you know that there are about $14 trillion in total IRA assets, representing roughly 30–35% of all U.S. retirement assets? That makes IRAs one of the largest pools of investable capital in the world. This week, we are closing another category killer domain deal, as well as two large exact match brand transactions. I am now transitioning my recent position that "the market for the most valuable domains is on fire", to a more permanent stance,"that with AI quickly evolving, CEOs, Founders, and investors are finally realizing that they strategically must own their category and brand .com domain." I wrote about that here last week and am sharing it again because it is that important to understand, https://t.co/fk5D90hQm3. All our domains are here https://t.co/ofJTmmXONO

Looks like https://t.co/CxPILkSqAn has a new landing page.
The domain name recently transferred to GoDaddy, under Whois privacy and the nameservers changed as well. It had been registered at Gandi, with Whois information redacted.
Spotted via @domainIQ_com.
Worldwide Domain Name Registrations Nearing the 400 Million Mark After a Healthy 1st Quarter Detailed in Latest Verisign Industry Brief: https://t.co/WkzasKFI0d
Security is kind of pointless if the domain can just be transferred internally by GoDaddy, in error.
You could have two-factor, DTVS, etc. It doesn't really matter.
@GoDaddy needs to address this.
As a registrar, there is nothing more important than domain security.
Across Q1 in 2026, .com continued to hold the top spot with just under 70% of offers. The remaining share was spread across .ai, .org, .io, .is, and a wider mix of alternative TLDs.
