I just got robbed in Vietnam 🇻🇳

It happened while my phone was getting fixed.

When I came out of the shop, I noticed someone had stolen my motorbike helmet.

The repair guy could see I was confused, asked what happened, and when I told him, he offered me his own helmet.

I didn't take it.

Instead I walked over to some ladies nearby to ask if they knew what happened.

They said they’d seen my helmet on the bike, but nobody saw it get taken.

So I asked them to show me on Google Maps where I could buy a new one.

Then it started raining.

Like, biblical levels of rain.

After about 400m of walking to the helmet shop, one of the ladies I'd spoken to suddenly pulled up on the side of the road next to me.

She'd put her coat on and come after me to take me to the shop herself, because if I went on my own they'd charge me the foreigner price.

She negotiated with them, I spent $20 on a new helmet and that was it.

When I got back to my bike with the new helmet, we talked for a bit and she told me she's opening a bakery!

Her name is Vy, she showed me around the bakery, and said next time I come back to Vietnam I should visit her (which I will!)

None of that would have happened if my helmet hadn't been stolen.

6 months in Vietnam and this is the worst thing that's happened to me.

One person did something bad, and it got completely outweighed by how kind and generous everyone else was.

If you ever get the chance to live in Vietnam, take it ❤️🇻🇳

Did you know these three were once on the same team at OKCoin back in 2014?

They were once known as the “Bitcoin Iron Triangle” (比特币铁三角).

Back then:

• Star Xu (徐明星): Founder of OKCoin, leading the company’s overall direction.

• Yi He (何一): Responsible for marketing, branding, and business development.

• CZ (赵长鹏): Joined OKCoin as CTO in June 2014, reportedly after being introduced by Yi He.

In 2015, CZ left OKCoin following disagreements with Star Xu. Yi He also left the company that year.

Then, in 2017, CZ founded Binance, and Yi He joined as co-founder.

More than a decade later, all three have become some of the biggest names in crypto.

i love teasing CZ from time to time, but honestly, this time i think Star Xu has gone too far.

competition is healthy, but constantly attacking your rivals won’t make your own product better.

CZ has a point here. real leaders focus on building, not tearing others down.
