Congress has spent years positioning itself as the guardian of India’s Constitution lecturing everyone on democracy, dissent, minority rights and sovereignty.

But when a foreign leader repeatedly commented on Kashmir, amplified narratives against India, and urged the
Muslim world to intervene suddenly it’s silence on that history and deepest condolences instead.

Let’s not pretend this is some genuine condolences from this party. The same party that converted a battlefield victory into diplomatic concession in 1972, and watched Kashmir burn through the 90s, now lectures others on sovereignty and moral consistency.

You don’t get to question the Indian state daily and then romanticise a leader who publicly questioned India’s sovereignty.

Most importantly as an Indian Muslim, I don’t need validation from foreign clerics. My rights come from the Indian Constitution. My identity isn’t outsourced to Tehran or anywhere else.

If condolences are protocol, keep them dignified and restrained.But moral language for those who commented on our internal affairs? That’s pure politics n def not empathy.
