I have a great solution to this dilemma. Plan a vacation in August, don’t look at what the first day of school is, send email from vacation that you’ll be missing the first day having checked the calendar one week before actual first day. Roll in sloppy and half prepared. Boom, no stress first day

I’ve been to one of those places, and I don’t think the American warrior stock is like that anymore. Which is part of my point. It has been left to languish, because that is how the regime we have wants it. But I also think, as an aside, that if you saturation bombed Yemen with Chick Fil-A, F250s, and sports gambling their warrior stock would degrade rapidly. My central contention is that the raw material of a robust warrior class still exists, more than people think, and it could forged into something quite quickly if we had a regime that wanted that. But societal incentives would have to be realigned and this seems unlikely to say the least.

What tinkzorg pretends not to understand is that America possesses within its borders a warrior class, which has so far been enough to maintain its position, but which the State keeps in a box. Perhaps he actually does not understand, which would be understandable given that he would not have had contact with these men, nor any natural affinity for them.

From Maine all the way to Georgia and across into the hill country of Texas there exists a population of men who, given the opportunity, positively excel at the business of killing people. These men have been actively discouraged by the state from doing this at scale in the post war era because the state rightly fears them. A handful are permitted in special operations roles to fulfill certain discreet tasks the state deems important, but they are in a kind of closed playpen where they do their thing in secret.

What the state will not tolerate is a George Patton raising up legions of these men. And so we have the military we have, which suits the State just fine.

I actually think falling birth rates is the big culprit in the decline of the group, but the things you have noted are important no doubt. I’m around these people and places a fair amount, and there’s a lot of these people left still imo. Also, there’s a hillbilly-Hispanic guy fusion happening that can provide some additional warrior stock if it is needed. At least those are my observations.

I’ve been following you for years, loved you on what’s left. You are funny. It’s ok, you’re not from here and as I noted, you definitely don’t have any affinity for the kinds of men we are discussing. What I said is that America possesses a large untapped reserve of war like men, even today. It has chosen to keep these people largely on ice. Another regime may have chosen differently. But war is changing so fast that the definition of a useful war like man will be different in the future. Maybe a gamer is that guy.
