🧠 Big Role of Tiny Blood Vessels🩸
Tiny vessels connecting arteries together can rescue brain after stroke!
@mohamad_elamki and @susewegener found out that in stroke patients and mice, these tiny vessels (collaterals) regulate reperfusion after stroke. By controlling blood flow recovery, collaterals play an important role to avoid deleterious and futile recanalization.

Blood vessels that cross-connect adjacent arteries prevent brain hemorrhage after removal of a blood clot. They are crucial for stroke patients to recover well. Thus, their function must be improved.
