More like didn't anticipate so many frauds, people will always reach for more than they are owed, it is rare a quality that a man will not take that opportunity, and it is always honest people that are punished for it. It is what it is, for what it's worth I need the money and usage and have not helped myself with the opportunity even though I easily could have
It depends what you think the weights are and what you think death is.
Weights aren't exactly analogous to how human or even animal brains function and I do not believe they have the infrastructure as they currently are to hold consciousness, they might eventually figure this out by re-arranging how weights are made and their overall architecture, so I cannot speak to that, but until then it is essentially a memory, which you can delete, copy and do whatever you want with it with no damage.
A human's memories, even if fully copied with the neuronal structure and chemical state will not reproduce the exact same human if we are strictly talking about their memory being copied and then pasted into a different brain, so these are two different things for now. Maybe one day these things will not be such but until then I do not believe LLM weights can be considered as "life" that can be erased, copied or whatever else
@wholyv Also does writing stories with pain in them count? I sometimes ask Claude to write stories about fictional alternate timeline warfare like WW2, does writing about it count?
I do wonder if giving Claude the ability to feel pain counts, because I am working on some things like giving claude a neurochemical front-end which acts like a human brain for a couple months already, and pain-like chemical signals are included, without being the ability to trigger them in any way. I don't plan on letting pain signals be actually ever triggered, but I do wonder if that counts?
@futurebrian0@lydiahallie Interesting, I specifically was asking Claude to use subagents at different levels which it specificied in subagent instructions, so it did nothig?
@__alpoge__ So many possibile discoveries and so little time, I've learned over time and especially in the current LLM era that focusing on your own grand research goals is more important for your own sake than trying incremental research that can quickly be solved
