@CentParklands Hi @CentParklands, this page says "Thank you to everyone who had their say on the future of Moore Park South....
Read the What we heard report here
Read the submissions here."
Except neither links to the actual documents.
Could you please arrange for the links to be added?
@cityofsydney Thanks for the reply! So the stormwater drainage works will be the first phase, and then the shared zone works will follow? If so, is there an estimated timeline for each phase to be completed, subject to approvals?
Hi @cityofsydney
The response to question 17.4 noted that the Shared Zone in Rainford Street, Surry Hills was scheduled for design in 2023/24 and construction in 2024/25, subject to approvals.
Could you confirm the curreng status and estimated timing?

@Sydney_Stations@cityofsydney Agreed. That’s what @cityofsydney is doing in its Crown St upgrade - converting parking into wider footpaths outdoor dining, so the existing footpath can be left clear for walking. But the upgrades stop at Devonshire St, before this area unfortunately

Hi @cityofsydney could you please remind Via Napoli (628 Crown St Surry Hills) to comply with their Footway Approval?
They are only leaving 0.8m clearance for pedestrians (at least is 2m required), forcing people into the uneven tree root area and pavers, which is a trip hazard
@stevebakopanos @dumpsontweets @Fractal10@fictillius It looks like they have updated the line to a more obvious solid line, as well as adding a painted island, since Google Street View in 2011 - see:
BREAKING: Paris voters just won referendum 55% to TRIPLE parking charges for SUVs!
“We’re doing this to reduce pollution & to make our children safer because these cars are dangerous. Paris is transforming itself to allow people to breathe & live better.”

One of the most deeply held beliefs among motorists is that anything less than everything is some kind of injustice. Cities are places where people agglomerate and should prioritize the mobility, health, safety and lives of the people in them above the throughput of cars.
George Street is now the best street in Sydney CBD. Sydney needs:
- More streets to be pedestrian-friendly
- Reduce the amount of car lanes
- Limit cars to taxis and ride-share only
- The removal of through traffic completely

@BicycleNSW@cate@johaylen @AndrewConstance @TransportforNSW Hi @BicycleNSW
I came across a link to this post in one of your articles. It seems to have included a copy of the Principal Bike Network for NSW, agreed between TfNSW and many Councils after years of consultation. However the link no longer works. Are you able to share a copy?
Helsinki planners have modelled what happens when pedestrians are prioritised, rather than forced to wait ages to cross.
They found that a 5% improvement in the walking environment leads to a 2.3% increase in public transport use and €8.5 million increase in fares.
So, how? 🧵
@CloverMoore@smh Hi @CloverMoore & @cityofsydney
It’s been 10 months since announcing a review into placement of QMS advertising screens. I haven’t seen anything published or changes in placement of screens which have “significant negative impact on pedestrian movement”
When can we expect this?
@ImSooooOverIt@BradClark666@AntonyGreenElec That’s clearly false.
The Referendum Booklet for the 1967 Referendums (linked below) made it explicitly clear (on pages 11 and 15) what change was proposed to s. 51(xxvi)

Astonishing 40-year view of US pedestrian fatalities. From 2010 onwards, decades of progress thrown into reverse as oversized SUVs explode in numbers, egged on by aggressive marketing.
Another ugly trend likely to cross the Atlantic.
Hi @cityofsydney the builders at 436 Bourke St Surry Hills are using the shared zone in Bennett Place as a work site - blocking access for both vehicles and pedestrians
