@FluentU You’ve left me less money to pursue language learning by refusing to refund me money from an account a support person admitted they know wasn’t set up by me.
FYI @FluentU has been informed that someone stole my info and set up an account with them, and are refusing to refund me or help give any information about the account. They are fully aware this is not my account and are refusing the refund, if you’ve been considering signing up
I can sometimes do comics/poetry in burnout but novels, absolutely not. And definitely not non-fiction either, burnout just takes way too much from you
If any of my #ActuallyAutistic comrades used to read LOTS of books every year and LOVED it, but can no longer do it, know that it isn’t your fault.
This is one of the side effects of autistic burnout. You’re not alone.
@arianek sorry i just realized you said doctors/hospitals but I hate those EMTs so much. Oh, and they rolled their eyes when I mentioned I was Autistic because I "don't look Autistic."
@arianek i just couldn't answer as quickly as they wanted, trying not to projectile vomit while speaking when I'd been throwing up all night. I got a very condescending e-mail saying that EMTs give their own medical advice and had done nothing wrong and the case was closed, no recourse.
@AutisticCallum_ once i had to call 911 and the communication was going HORRIBLY. My safety was on the line. I said "I'm Autistic -" and was going to go on to say "we need to make sure we understand each other here" and she got me off to condescendingly go "ohhhhh don't worry you're doing great"
@bebravegrl119@MindShift2018 A lot of religious abuse involves forcing the child to perform love after assaulting them so the assaulter can feel better and like things are fine. The child, who KNOWS things are not fine now, might be further punished for not performing post-abuse love to their abusers' liking
@montananmark@MindShift2018 You aren't allowed to discipline any other humans by hitting them when you have decided they've done something morally wrong, why on EARTH would it be okay to do that to a child who can't leave or stop you. Or to have no legal body overseeing the difference for the child
@MSVintageValues @MindShift2018 My dad read that book and hit me so hard with objects he broke a few of them. I was about 3, he was 6'8" and in the military. He came at me like he'd attack a man in a bar fight, someone really should have stopped Dobson
@MindShift2018 I swear boomer parents would rather abuse their child into hating them forever than EVER risk not looking like absolute authority and Gothard and Dobson screwed over so many kids in my generation because of it. Now they're all "why don't you trust me? Why aren't we close?"
@AuDHDtherapist Like there's a million miles between me and what's around me or what I need to do, or a million miles between one thought and the next, especially if i'm in burnout too (and dissociation, for me, is a good sign i'm about to hit burnout) like it would take 20 years to turn on a TV
I'm Enby but I sure as hell say woman when I'm being disbelieved about medical symptoms by doctors
I'm Enby but I'm sure as hell say woman when I'm getting spoken over in work meetings
Touched on the bus by men I don't know
Screamed at by strangers for not stopping to talk etc
I'm genderqueer. If I say 'as a woman' it's shorthand for:
"I'm a person that was socialised as a woman for a large part of my life and identify with some aspects of it but not all and 'woman' doesn't accurately describe my gender but it's quicker to say"
@ItsEmilyKaty I went in January and was surprised at how Not Colder it was than other places I've been, but I was mainly in Reykjavik - I just had on what I'd have to walk around anywhere that gets a winter - snow boots, thermal leggings, good coat with a sweater on, gloves and hat, I was fine
