The NCAA Division I Cabinet on Friday announced a change to its age-based eligibility concept, adjusting the proposal to remove a student-athlete’s actual or expected high school graduation as a criterion for the start of the five-year period of eligibility. In supporting this adjustment, the Cabinet noted that a student-athlete’s five-year period of eligibility would start either upon initial full-time enrollment at any collegiate institution or at the start of the academic year immediately following the student-athlete’s 19th birthday, whichever occurs first.
The NABC commends the Cabinet for this modification. Based on feedback from NABC-member coaches across Division I, the NABC in recent weeks has advocated to the Cabinet and the DI Men’s Basketball Oversight Committee in support of this adjustment – believing it represents an ideal solution to stabilize the eligibility environment while also preserving opportunities for additional physical and mental development prior to college enrollment. The college sports governance process functions most effectively when diverse perspectives are at the table, and we thank the NCAA for considering the feedback of basketball coaches as it evaluated this adjustment to the eligibility proposal.
As the age-based eligibility concept progresses through the NCAA’s governance structure this summer, the NABC will continue to advocate strongly for the unique perspectives of coaches – your voices – to be front and center.
I had to quit playing basketball.
Not because I wasn’t good enough. Because I couldn’t afford to keep going… and injuries made it worse.
That’s the part nobody talks about.
There are kids RIGHT NOW who can play at a high level… but won’t make it, not because of talent, but because of money.
So I built Quantum Sports Academy when I was 18 years old. Now we’re competing in the Hoop Group Academic League, traveling across the U.S. and Canada, giving players real exposure. And have been able to get 21 kids signed to schools in the last 2 years since we started
But the truth is… we’re still fighting the same problem.
I’m trying to build a system where elite basketball is FREE.
Where kids don’t have to choose between their dream and their bank account.
Next step: launching a girls and boys program this summer where nobody has to pay, not for leagues, jerseys, travel. I want to create something where the only thing kids have to worry about is getting better at basketball. NOT if they can afford to play basketball. More opportunities. More lives changed.
I’m looking for sponsors who want to be part of something real.
Not just branding. Impact.
If that’s you, or you know someone who wants to directly impact lives of kids.
DM me.
Let’s change this.
At the college level, everyone can score. That’s expected. What separates you is the other end. Can you guard? Take pride in stops? Be someone we trust every possession? Defense earns minutes.
Any ‘26 recruits looking for an opportunity @TADPrepLV is on the hunt!

Kobe Bryant discusses what he noticed about players who were STRONG
“Mike, Scottie, those guys were lifting, they were strong.
They had 4 or 5 rings by this point…
I need to do THAT.”
If you’re an athlete, getting STRONG & consistent lifting is a must:
“I don’t complain about playing time.
My job is to play so well that the coach can’t sit me. If I wasn't going to make it - it wasn't going to be because my lack of attitude, my habits, and my energy.” - Shane Battier

First off, I would like to thank Coach Deforest and @FLCoastalPrep for the past 2 seasons! To the players, thank you for trusting me and giving me your all! Forever appreciative of the connections and memories made!
With that being said, major update coming later 👀
