@RoyLilley Wonder if @wesstreeting will read this! So true, reorganisation of NHSE is profligate - offering ALL staff voluntary redundancy without trying to ensure they keep the people they need shows huge incompetence.
The NHS survived this year because staff absorbed the consequences of decisions they didnโt make, chaos they didnโt create.
The blunt message from this year is the NHS is led by someone who isnโt clever enough, experienced enough and is too cocky by half. https://t.co/pzUr9HJ9yC
@parthaskar Doctors were well paid and respected when they were all posh white men, don't think it is just racism which has led to the way doctors are treated now, but is probably a contributary factor.
@SocialistHB@michaeljswalker Doctors have had their pay eroded more than anyone else. Probably because Agenda for Change staff rates are underpinned by minimum wage, so relatively high paid public sector workers are easier targets.
@OliverRyanUK That "grasping self-interested pressure group" who were some of the highest achieving students, paid ยฃ14/hr for stressful job after 5-6 years of intense training are now paid ยฃ18/hr. An ST4 who will operate on your loved ones is paid ยฃ250 for an 8 hour day.
Still underpaid.
I've written this open letter to @Keir_Starmer & @wesstreeting because, though I am desperately worried about NHS patients over the next 5 days, I know this strike by resident doctors is a desperate act of last resort.
Please read.
@parthaskar @LinkedInUK @NHSE_WTE@NHSEmployers@wesstreeting@DHSCgovuk Says it is in partnership with University of Leicester, but can't any IMG with PLAB and appropriate language qualification apply to the Foundation Programme as long as they have not completed internship?
@Xeon4f145d96s1 It is very good, but I fear they will play the "this will take too long" card and it will have to be broken down into smaller requests.
@RoyLilley If govt treats doctors like military (banning strikes) are they willing to pay the same as the military?
FY2 in NHS - ยฃ44,439
FY2 in Navy - ยฃ76,100+
Both expected to travel to wherever the jobs are.
