The word tolerance has been weaponized against you. The weapon was forged in 1965. You should know who forged it and why.

Before there was the French Theory — before Foucault, Derrida, and Deleuze made deconstruction elegant and exportable — there was the Frankfurt School. And the Frankfurt School was worse, because it was deliberate. Foucault played with ideas he never expected to have consequences. Herbert Marcuse knew exactly what he was building.

These were not fringe academics. The Institute for Social Research relocated from Frankfurt to Columbia University in 1934 when Hitler came to power. Funded, positioned, and deliberate, they spent the next decades producing the theoretical infrastructure for the dismantling of the civilization that had given them refuge. This is not ingratitude – it is the logic of the project. It was universal – it applied to every Western civilization equally.

Marcuse — godfather of the New Left — published Repressive Tolerance in 1965. The most influential political document most people have never read. Its argument: tolerating wrong ideas is itself oppression. True tolerance requires the suppression of intolerant ideas. Tolerating everything is repressive. Suppressing the wrong things is liberating. The argument is circular by design – it puts the conclusion inside the premise and dares you to find the exit.

The practical implication was stated explicitly: withdrawal of tolerance from movements that are regressive, from speech that reinforces existing hierarchies. The left decides which movements are regressive. Everyone else is silenced – not despite tolerance but in its name. The most sophisticated justification for censorship ever produced, dressed in the vocabulary of liberation.

The French Theory picked up the tools and made them elegant. Foucault made the Frankfurt critique of power literary. Derrida made the critique of meaning philosophical. Deleuze made the critique of identity aesthetic. What had been a political program became a cultural sensibility – which is why it spread further and faster than the original. You can argue with a political program. A cultural sensibility is in the air you breathe.

The generation that read Marcuse went on to run the universities, the media, the foundations, the NGOs, the content moderation departments, and the EU regulatory apparatus. They did not implement his argument cynically – they implemented it sincerely, because they had been taught it as philosophy.

This is why cancel culture does not feel like censorship to the people practicing it. The journalist who demands a speaker be deplatformed genuinely believes she is defending free speech. The HR department that fires the employee for the wrong opinion genuinely believes it is creating an inclusive environment. They have been taught that this is what tolerance means. Marcuse taught them.

Musk has been fighting Marcuse’s argument for four years probably even without knowing Marcuse’s name. Every content moderation policy, every advertiser boycott, every regulatory assault – these are Repressive Tolerance, institutionalized. The DSA is Repressive Tolerance with a legal budget. The fact-checking organization is Repressive Tolerance.

The good news: the argument fails on contact with a free platform – because the suppression becomes visible, the mechanism becomes nameable, and a named mechanism loses half its power. This is why the Counter-Reformation moves so fast against X. Not because X is dangerous. Because X is where Repressive Tolerance gets named.

Canada could not promise / would not stop Chinese steel being transshipped into auto parts & then into the U.S. market.

The U.S. requires a strict “melt and pour” rule. Steel must be melted and poured in North America to qualify for preferential treatment.

This stops Chinese steel from entering Canada, getting light processing, and crossing the border as “North American” content to evade tariffs.

Recall The Canadian Steel Producers Association and Aluminium Association of Canada have both publicly confirmed Chinese dumping is happening, warning Canada risks becoming a dumping ground for China’s excess steel and aluminum.

A recent White House report on the “transshipment scam” also listed Canada as a problem country in China’s shadow network for evading U.S. tariffs.

Canada failed to deliver enforceable guarantees. Mexico accepted the melt-and-pour requirements, raised tariffs on Chinese steel and auto parts, and closed the back door.

When Gaviola discovered that her son's public school began secretly transitioning him, she pulled him out and made plans to send him to a Christian boarding school.

The Biden DOJ charged her with kidnapping and sought the harshest penalty possible. Gaviola is going to prison for three years.

Her son is now an adult and never transitioned. Gaviola's sentence starts next week.

Deputy enters property through a locked gate and no warrant. Gets schooled on tresspass laws and booted off the property.

When law enforcement mistakes an
​In Kalispell, Montana, a Flathead County Sheriff’s deputy identifying himself only as "Deputy Mark", bypassed a chained, closed gate onto private property under the premise of investigating an abandoned Ford Expedition parked down near a local school.

The deputy claimed he was conducting a welfare check to locate an individual named Eli Tully.
​The immediate issue? Had the deputy conducted basic due diligence before stepping foot past a locked perimeter, he would have known Tully had already been arrested two weeks prior and was actively sitting inside the Flathead County Detention Center on assault charges.

​When property owner Jacob Norris stepped out to address the intrusion, he immediately answered the deputy's primary question by confirming Tully was already in the county jail. He also questioned the deputy on how he got in thus getting the deputy to admit that the gate was locked with a chain.

Norris then did what every citizen has the constitutional right to do: he exercised his Fifth Amendment right to remain silent and repeatedly ordered the deputy to vacate his private property.

​Under the Fourth Amendment and Montana trespass law, any implied license for an officer to conduct a warrantless knock-and-talk vanishes the moment the property owner revokes consent.

Instead of walking back to his cruiser, the deputy’s ego took over. Viewing the invocation of basic rights as defiance rather than the law of the land, he refused to leave, walked over to question a neighbor on the property, and brazenly stated:
​"I'll leave when I'm done."

​That statement encapsulates an alarming mentality where an officer believes personal convenience and authority supersede the private property rights of the public. To make matters worse, after escalating the encounter and demonstrating clear contempt for a citizen standing on firm legal ground, the deputy refused to provide his full name or badge number before driving off.

There are no records I can find if Jacob filed a formal complaint or lawsuit against the sheriff department based on the incident.

​Know your rights, remain calm, and never let an official convince you that following the Constitution is optional.

I am a rancher. Biden ordered any rancher with a Federal contract to slaughter their herds and over turn their crops. I do not have a contract . Many do. Our cattle need more time.
