🌍 On the occasion of #WorldEnvironmentDay 2026, TERI EIACP organized a Community Awareness Programme at Sanatan Dharmshala, Village Maujpur, Delhi, on the theme “Adopt Sustainable Food Systems: Behavioural Change for Mission LiFE and Viksit Bharat @ 2047.”
The programme brought together policymakers, community leaders, and citizens to discuss sustainable lifestyles, climate-resilient food systems, and community-driven environmental action. Dr Apurva Malik, Information Officer, TERI-EIACP, delivered the welcome address, while Dr PK Bhattacharya, Director & Coordinator, TERI-EIACP, highlighted the importance of climate-resilient agriculture and the adoption of local and seasonal foods to strengthen food security and sustainability.
The event featured insightful addresses by Ms Lipika Roy, Joint Director, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (@moefcc); Ms Manisha Ashish Punia and Mr Anil Kumar Sharma, Councillors, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD); Mr Jitendra Mahajan, MLA, Rohtashnagar; Mr Sagar Chaudhary; and Dr Nelia Lois Chauhan, IICA Certified Independent Director Candidate.
Discussions focused on sustainable food habits, waste management, groundwater conservation, millet-based diets, biodiversity, women and youth leadership, and the role of Mission LiFE in driving behavioural change.
The programme concluded with an interactive session led by Ms Pallavi Singh, Program Officer, TERI-EIACP, reinforcing collective action towards environmental protection and the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047.

🌍 On World Environment Day 2026, TERI’s Environment Education and Awareness (EEA) Division officially launched CLICY 2.0 (Climate Innovators Challenge for Youth) through a webinar titled “Future Builders: Systems Thinking for Climate Innovators.”
The event brought together students, educators, and sustainability enthusiasts to explore systems thinking as a tool for addressing complex climate challenges. In her welcome address, Dr Livleen Kaur Kahlon, Director, EEA, TERI, emphasized the importance of sustainability education and youth-led innovation in driving climate action.
The expert session by Ms Pradnya Mathur, Co-Founder, Dharinya Systems Change Pvt. Ltd, introduced participants to systems thinking frameworks and practical approaches for understanding climate issues. The event also featured the official launch of CLICY 2.0, including an overview of the programme, its thematic areas, and the participation process for students across Karnataka.

🌍 On the occasion of #WorldEnvironmentDay2026, TERI’s Environment Education and Awareness (EEA) Division organized the GREEN Olympiad 2026–27 Annual Multistakeholders’ Meeting, bringing together representatives from government institutions, educational boards, academia, schools, multilateral organizations, civil society, and the private sector.
The meeting served as a platform to discuss the growing importance of environmental education, strengthen partnerships for youth engagement, and formally launch the GREEN Olympiad 2026–27 Registration Portal.
The programme featured welcome remarks by Dr @sahariadipankar, Senior Director, TERI, followed by a keynote address from Ms Leena Nandan, Distinguished Fellow, TERI, and a special address by Dr Chong Shimray, Professor, NCERT. Dr Livleen Kaur Kahlon, Director, EEA, TERI, presented an overview of the GREEN Olympiad initiative and its impact.

The discussion explored net-zero pathways for India, Türkiye, Germany, and the EU. Dr Kedia highlighted the importance of equity, energy access, and sustainable development in shaping energy transitions, while emphasizing the need for climate finance, technology cooperation, and capacity building.
She also underscored the disparities in global energy consumption, noting that India's per capita energy use (866 watts) remains significantly lower than that of upper-middle-income (3,423 watts) and high-income economies (6,330 watts), reinforcing the importance of development-compatible and equitable climate pathways.
