With proper rehabilitation, support and opportunity people can turn their lives around and become productive citizens. I personally know men and women that are making amazing differences in their communities after incarceration. @prisonfellowshp#bethekey#unlocksecondchances
With extensive training and preparation, our volunteer Justice Ambassadors joined us for an in-person Day of Action in Nashville. At a key juncture in session, these grassroots leaders shared their support for punishment that fits the crime with courage, sensitivity, and grace.
“Now, it bothers me when other people don't care about people who have a criminal record. Many people still say, ‘Lock them up & throw away the key.’ I wish people had more compassion to see all men & women as human & worthy of second chances.” @TEslick https://t.co/FrGUeRp0qB
For all our Jesus-talk, where on the ever loving earth is our Jesus-walk? If you are not a Christian, I’m not talking to you. But if you are, Jesus wasn’t playing when he called us to a whole different ethic from the world. We’re not loud mouth boasters. We’re servants. We SERVE.

To start with, congratulations to Chris Allan, Kelsey Sommerville, and Tara Eslick @TEslick for receiving the Policy Shaper Award! Through meetings with lawmakers and dedication to act on #criminaljusticereforms, you have advanced justice that restores.
The hubby captured this beauty on the way to get our dinner last night. Can’t believe I missed seeing it in person!

"... looking beyond the barbed wire, gates, & looming tower. I prayed. For the guards. For the inmates, healthy and sick ... that these gates will open to the volunteers. To many, the men & women behind bars are forgotten ... But they aren't. They are loved. ..." #volunteer
From a Christian perspective, today is what happens when people place their hope in politics, and it fails them. As Christians, we have often been seduced by politics as our hope. Jesus alone can give hope. Engage in politics, and hope in Jesus. Politics makes a bad Messiah.
