One of Zimbabwe’s retired military generals opposed to President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s term extension, Air Marshal Muchena, has released these visuals to the media showing State security officers pursuing him and his wife wherever they go for days.
Air Marshal Muchena previously met with President Mnangagwa and expressed his opposition to the term-extension legislation, then known as CAB3.
President Mnangagwa abruptly ended the meeting with the words: “Whoever wins, let them win.”
The apparent surveillance of a retired senior military officer and his wife exposes the use of political intimidation and the abuse of State security institutions to silence opposition voices. Disagreeing with a constitutional amendment should not be a crime.
The irony of a retired general being relentlessly pursued by State security agents is striking. As a young boy, he went to war to help liberate the country, returned home and helped build the military establishment that is now being used to hound him and his family.
He fought to free Zimbabwe, only to find himself being persecuted by the very State he helped create. If a whole general can be hounded like this, what of an ordinary citizen?
@CMukungunugwa Why not build new modern hospitals in the process aswell? Why are people praising such nonsense about renovation of hospitals built by smith. How many hospitals where built by @ZANUPF_Official coh they been in power since 1980

@NNyashaYessur@wicknellchivayo So there is no medicine in hospitals, no laptops or books in schools o job opportunities for graduates or apprentices work. And you post this nonsense about this @ZANUPF_Official fat fool giving out money possibly stolen from Zimbabwean citizens? You are fool
Yes I have evidence. Is there medication in the hospitals? Is there any employment opportunities for the youth or it’s only available to those who are affiliated with @ZANUPF_Official ?. The list goes on mate. People like this are ruining Africa, this has nothing to do with respect, it’s about Zimbabwe being prosperous.
@CMukungunugwa Can’t listen to these politicians pretending to be religious men of GOD. So his GOD is happy that Zimbabweans are living in poverty, no jobs, no medicine in hospitals. What type of GOD does he worship who take pleasure in the sufferings of the nations
Thank you, UK, for your incredible warmth, love, and hospitality. Your support, encouragement, and unwavering commitment to a New Great Zimbabwe is truly inspiring. A Citizens Government in our lifetime!
