Went there in 1993 while on active duty. The folks I met were great. The subway halls were amazing.
St Basil’s Cathedral was mesmerizing as were the other buildings inside the Kremlin. Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral of the Archangel Michael, the Bell Tower of Ivan the Great, all were just awe inspiring.

Well, except for the 8-tracks. Those were awful.
Now cassettes? THOSE beauties were edgy! And (IMHO) there’s still nothing quite like the feel of pulling an awesome album off the turntable (Led Zepplin IV) deftly flipping it over, and then laying it down to hear side 2.
I can close my eyes…
