„Was braucht ihr regulatorisch?“
„Wie verhindern wir, dass Europa bei autonomem Fahren zurückfällt?“

Die deutsche Autoindustrie weiß ganz genau, was auf sie zukommt.

Denn die größte Gefahr ist nicht Teslas offizielles Level 2.

Die größte Gefahr ist, dass Kunden ein System erleben, das sich im Alltag autonomer anfühlt als alles, was deutsche Hersteller aktuell anbieten.

Und genau dann wird es für Politik und Hersteller unangenehm.

European regulators could approve Tesla’s Full Self-Driving system across the EU as soon as October, but the Dutch regulator leading the review will not explain how it concluded the driver-assistance technology is safe — or share documentation that Tesla has pressed to keep secret.

The Dutch road regulator RDW approved Tesla’s system in April and has since then advocated for its adoption across the European Union.

However, RDW will not tell the public why it concluded the driver-assistance system is safe or how it evaluated the technology, which for years has faced regulatory investigations and lawsuits over crashes in the U.S.

RDW said releasing such details would violate Tesla’s commercial secrets, echoing the automaker’s own demands for confidentiality. Since late 2024, Tesla has pressed RDW to keep documentation about the safety review secret, according to previously unreported email correspondence between the Dutch regulator and Tesla, obtained by Reuters through a public records request.
