🇩🇪🇫🇷 KNDS unveiled new LORAS long-range artillery system family at Eurosatory 2026. @KNDS_France

LORAS (LOng Range Artillery System) is a 155mm 58 caliber artillery system that has a firing range of over 60 km and reaching ranges of up to 100 km with special munitions.

The system is designed to fit existing platforms and can be mounted on wheeled or tracked vehicles. LORAS is showcased at Eurosatory 2026 on the German-designed and German-built Boxer Tracked armored vehicle.

🇩🇪 Rheinmetall unveiled its new L60 155mm artillery gun system at Eurosatory 2026. @RheinmetallAG @cogeseurosatory

The L60 artillery system was developed to significantly increase the effective range of self-propelled howitzers (SPH). Compared to a conventional L52 gun, the new system has an increased barrel length and charge chamber volume, and is expected to achieve a thirty percent longer range.

The initial steps in production of the new 9.3 m long, 2.5-ton gun system have already been completed. In January 2025, successful tests were completed with a maximum firing pressure of >600 MPa. The development and testing of the weapon system continued throughout 2025, with muzzle velocities exceeding 1,100 m/s achieved.

The first firing demonstration is scheduled to take place this year.
