The real learning loss from the pandemic was social and emotional skills. Such as learning to share, take turns, negotiate, & resolve conflicts through play as well as self-regulation & impulse control. Students need unstructured play, recess, & physical activity more than ever.
One resource I have recently discovered is @DREMEmath. They have wonderful early childhood activities for families and educators to promote math in the early years. The activities are easy to follow and the research is always a good read for educators.

Fueled by your collective advocacy, today @POTUS signed a set of executive orders directing federal agencies to improve compensation for early educators & make #childcare more affordable & accessible for families: https://t.co/R36hIWzJIa 1/4
The struggle to find and afford quality #childcare is all too real for families everywhere. We need solutions and investments that work for families & their babies, and that give providers resources to stay in the profession. #ThinkBabies#SolveChildCare

Don't fear the feelings.
Research has shown that children’s ability to effectively manage their full range of emotions, also known as self-regulation—is one of the most important factors for success in school, work, and relationships into the long-term: https://t.co/fPR8qC0b3K
Early social-emotional development is now understood to be the bedrock on which rests the sense of self that helps us tackle the tasks of life. It's developing the capacity to experience & regulate emotions, form secure relationships and explore & learn. https://t.co/NtzqJI8eDd
Educators! Use these social-emotional learning guides from Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Renwick Gallery (in English & Spanish!) to help students connect with art & themselves: https://t.co/l36Spebb6w
