@rurounimod Carels points in the WHL feel inflated, his offense doesn't seem like it will translate to the NHL. Definitely prefer Reid over him, I feel he has a much higher ceiling. Carels feels very similar to Dickinson to me but more physical. High floor but low ceiling. I am concerned
@halfwall_hockey Carels feels very disappointing at pick #2. Nothing elite about him and feels so similar to Dickinson. High floor low ceiling, not a fan
@Sheng_Peng Carels profiles very similarly to Dickinson but with more physicality. Very high floor but lower ceiling compared to the other D in my opinion, would not be a fan of the pick especially at #2
@FowleBall15 Their faces haha, Stenberg is a stud by I’m not confident he is far greater than Bjork, considering the age difference and Bjork being Centre
@MyFryHole Still early but Helenius looking like a really good pick at #14 in 2024 for the Sabres. Remember the Sharks had that pick and traded up for Dickinson….
@halfwall_hockey@S_Williams_Jr Think we see Grier acquire a D on the younger side, along with a stopgap vet that is acquired for cheap. Also maybe a small gamble on an undervalued D, similar to Liljegren. Grier has preached patience, the team isn't close to a cup. Fans will be disappointed expecting playoffs
@halfwall_hockey@S_Williams_Jr A 1st, for an aging stop gap makes sense if the Sharks were seriously contending but they are not. If Grier gives up meaningful assets it will be for someone much younger. Grier understands the Sharks are no where close to contention and isn't going to rush his plan as he said.
@Sheng_Peng It’s time for McCarthy to be let go. Underachieved the past 2 seasons with 6th place finishes and early exits. Team was a disaster at the end of this season. From the Doug Wilson regime, Grier should bring in his own guy.
@Sheng_Peng Pohlkamp looked amazing, arguably the best D out there. Hard to win when Hache-Woo pairing was unplayable, and Bystedt/Musty had very poor games. Might be Bystedt's final game in the org, bet he gets traded this offseason.
@Sheng_Peng Meanwhile Thompson had 13 points in 14 games with Abbotsford. Depending on what Grier does this offseason for the Sharks, it may need to be questioned if he knows how to assess talent for Defenseman.
@Sheng_Peng Still confused why they gave up Thompson to bring in Woo. Only thing I can think of was too add AHL playoff experience, but he has not looked good this series.
