Tibetans in Dharamshala sent a powerful message against Beijing’s forced assimilation policies.

During a mass protest, Tibetans publicly burned a copy of the Chinese Constitution to reject China’s so-called Ethnic Unity and Progress Law, which they say is designed to erase Tibetan identity, language, culture, and religious traditions.

Chanting “Tibet is a nation, not a minority,” protesters condemned Beijing’s attempt to redefine Tibetans through political control and demanded respect for Tibet’s distinct identity.

Former 1989 Tiananmen student leader and human rights defender Zhang Yi has reportedly been criminally detained in Tibet after showing a photo of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to a Tibetan at Sera Monastery in Lhasa.

Arrested on 1 July, the very day the CCP's so called Ethnic Unity Law came into force, authorities have now escalated the case to the criminal charge of "incitement."

On Day 4 of the Tibetan Youth Congress' month long Chain Hunger Strike, more young activists joined the movement, bringing together over 32 Tibetans in protest against China's so called Ethnic Unity Law and in honor of martyr Lobga Rangzen, who gave his life outside the UN for Tibet.
