The way you hold the bar is a major contributing factor. You generally don’t want to hold anything with your fingers, rather your calluses area. Train that using dead hangs (generally your wrists/grip will get stronger automatically from pull and hold movements).

People rely too much on their fingers (part of the reason why their forearms never grow/wrists get weaker).
