@SoundSyllable@mazst My thoughts are when thinking of this as phoneme-grapheme correspondence, no. In this word knight, the grapheme kn is used to represent the phoneme /n/, etc. matching the first comment from marion s. I am always up for correction and learning though.
If you agree that teaching reading comprehension is primarily about building pupils' understanding of written language through meaningful experiences with a variety of texts chosen for this purpose, please consider retweeting. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

@JayWamsted I was doing a test Teams call in one of our hallways today preparing for an event we are having tomorrow. My partner in crime, who was on the Teams call telling me how the feed looked, cried when two students walked by and asked if I was filming a TikTok.
Just in case you missed my girl @LakeSandra47, she’s a rockstar and organizes amazing events for students to interact and do good with community members. Thanks @RaceTrac!
I guess it’s official. I have been invited to be a keynote speaker at the Trauma Aware Schools Conference at the University of Brisbane, Australia in late 2024. Going places.
@jen_shiers@ReadforAllPeopl@readingleaguega Love that you are joining as well! We just got our shipment of books that we plan to use for a staff book study in the future. I’ll have to pull you in as a guest host once we get there!!!
