MANDERA STRENGTHENS DIGITAL LEARNING WITH SECOND COHORT OF ICT CHAMPIONS
“You should not put material gains at the heart of ICT-integrated lessons, but rather the lives of these innocent children who have no digital stimulation opportunities at home, yet are expected to compete globally.”- TSC County Director, Mr. Yakub Issack.
His remarks set the tone for the two-day training of Mandera’s second cohort of school-based ICT Champions, a continuation of a growing county-wide effort to strengthen digital learning.
This cohort builds on the success of the first cohort of ICT Champions, who now form a strong talent pool of teachers already delivering ICT-integrated lessons, mentoring peers, and sustaining digital learning practices within their schools.
Opening the training, FCDC Deputy CEO, Mrs. Tamima Ali, reminded teachers that technology is no longer optional, urging them to see themselves as key drivers of opportunity for learners who depend on schools for digital exposure. She emphasized that impact will be measured by how far learners are empowered, not just by training completed.
Chief Officer for Education, Dr. Abdikadir Adan, reaffirmed the County Government’s commitment to embedding digital skills in learning, noting their importance for preparing learners for life beyond the classroom.
The training focused on strengthening teachers’ skills in the @RaspberryPi_org Kenya Computing Curriculum, improving classroom delivery and peer learning among ICT Champions.
Mandera continues to invest in teachers as the bridge to a more inclusive, future-ready education system.

Having listened keenly to the address by the Deputy President this evening, I find it disturbing that a leader of his stature would issue such reckless statements at a time when government needs to be seen to be pulling in one direction.
As a country, we find ourselves in a not too familiar territory and therefore it’s incumbent upon the leadership of the country to try and restore confidence in its citizens rather than apportioning blame for failures that should be collectively owned by them.
To make it worse the sentiments by Mr. Rigathi Gachagua smacks of tribal undertones and that’s the least this country needs at this time.
I would therefore wish to see him lead by example by being the first to take RESPONSIBILITY & RESIGN instead of asking for other peoples' resignations.

No amount of tears, no amount of admiration will help us understand the pain and bravery of our brothers and sisters. May Allah reward them with something of kheyr. May Allah change their circumstances to a better. May Allah forgive us all from our shortcomings. They are victors.
Those who spend their wealth [in Allah ‘s way] by night and by day, secretly and publicly – they will have their reward with their Lord. And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.” – [Quran, 2:274]
This evening we held consultative meeting with HE the President Willam Ruto on various issues. I was accompanied by my brother the Governor of Marsabit HE Mohamud Ali.
The super senator @BillowKerrow has voiced it for the voiceless. There is no terrorism in resistance. In Kenya we had #MauMau and South Africa had #ANC.
I attended a morning breakfast roundtable event in which representatives from the Ministry of East Africa ASAL and Regional Development, including CS @PeninahMalonza and PS's @harsama_kello@AbdiDubatF, presented the key development goals for the ASALs and the 7-member EAC region. This meeting served as a platform for fostering collaboration between development partners, Semi Autonomous Government Agencies (SAGAs), and other national government agencies, with a mutual agreement to enhance cooperation between development partners and the Ministry of ASALs and EAC
Last evening's banquet in honor of HM King Charles III & Queen Camilla was a most befitting celebration of culture and culinary display; a triumph of shared understandings over challenging histories; a communion of hope over cynicism.
I am now on the section between Garbatula and Boji on lot 2 of the Horn of Africa Gateway Development Project (HOAGDAP) Isiolo Mandera road. There is good progress on this section. In the next one month, a section of the road is expected to be covered by bitumen @KeNHAKenya
Senator Ali Roba was tonight coronated by the Assare community, a moment of great honor and trust. The gift of the Holy Quran as signifies the faith placed in him to lead the Garri community with dedication and integrity.
I had the opportunity to meet with the Mandera South NG-CDF Teacher Scholarship beneficiaries today at Garisa University… The 125 students are the largest single block of students from one constituency studying at Garissa University… the scholarship programme will definitely play a pivotal role in the lives of many meritorious students from Mandera South Constituency. Other groups of students under the same programme are enrolled for Diploma Primary Teacher Training colleges in Mandera and Garissa TTCs…
