@elonmusk I understand why people would think LIDAR was the way to go for self driving cars, absolutely. if you try to create a tech stack that drives safely in ALL situations cars get into it becomes obvious that doing it from sight like humans do is eventually what is needed.

that's vile. That being said I once asked a soon to be ex why they wanted to be with someone who valued their freedom, independence, career, alone time etc if all of those qualities made them feel insecure and they spent so much energy each day trying to stamp out the qualities that made me?
His answer was he wanted me to be more like the fantasy he had in his mind about me, and in that version I gave up all of those things to be with him, that taming/dominating something free/wild made him feel powerful.
I have never wanted to yeet myself out of a window so badly before. I was thankful in the moment that he had decided to be so blunt about such a nasty thought that should have never seen the light of day
