Everyone can call the same model. What's yours is the feedback loop around it.
Shipping is the easiest part, the demo looks great, everyone claps.
Then the real work starts: closing the loop. The loop is the product. https://t.co/iSYNj1RR3f
🐣 On a personal note: I'm officially an "alien with extraordinary ability" a.k.a. I got my O-1A visa and moved to San Francisco!
I can't thank enough the people who helped me along the way. It's amazing to learn how kind people really are!!!
For folks going through the visa process right now: it will work out. And for anyone who needs advice/help/recommendations, I got you. DM me.
Love, T
Five years ago I joined Impel AI (formerly SpinCar and ofc Pulsar AI!!) as a curious data scientist who was afraid of EVERY little challenge. I'm leaving as someone who honestly believes there is nothing in this entire world that I can't do if the right people are in my corner. That is entirely because of you all.
My heart is full of lifelong coworkers and friends, and I feel incredibly lucky that I get to keep these memories with me.
Love you ALL.
See you down the road. 🍷
My talk from the @aiDotEngineer World's Fair is up.
shipping is the easy part now. you can build a whole product in days.
the real work starts after you launch. closing the loop.
the loop is the product.

@paulg From a teenager’s sister: Exploring, learning, and taking your time don’t always get the same recognition. And it’s hard to choose your interests over prestige, especially as a teen.
@karpathy What we need most is balance: recognizing how far these models have come and how impressive they already are, while also being honest that their impact is still uneven.
