@JasonTeaching could you please give some insights into the following problem of practice? How might we use technology in the classroom in meaningful ways? How can we use technology with division 1 students instead of just having them play learning games on iPads?

@MissNussbaum@BadlandsTeacher I really like that idea Emily! I think the students would love watching the videos at the end! Something I will have to try during my next field experience! Thanks for the ideas!
Q5: Galileo Educational Network (2018) states that “When teachers see their job as mainly covering curriculum, questions of student understanding are not front and center.”. How can we ensure that we are ensuring that our students’ understanding is a priority? #dtk12
@KellyPotiuk I definitely agree! It is so so important for our students to feel safe, and feel comfortable enough to share their questions and concerns without being ashamed. I think we need to create this type of environment right from the first day of school! #dtk12
@Cchapin85 I agree that is crucial to have multiple formative assessments in our plans! Do you think it would be difficult to find the time everyday to check in? How would you engage the students to check in with you? #dtk12
@Susan02730297 I think that it is important to include a lot of formative assessment and student check-ins to ensure that they have a good understanding of the topic we are learning about. #dtk12
@BadlandsTeacher A video booth would be fun! Or maybe there is a way to set up iPads to have seesaw and the students could video themselves asking questions! #dtk12
@TSkoby I like the one on one idea and love the fun name! I think it is important that we make the time to check in with our students and have those conversations about where they are at with their learning. #dtk12
@BadlandsTeacher Oh I love that idea!! I think the students would think it was so cool that they got to write their questions out! How would you do this in a kindergarten or grade 1 classroom when they may not be able to write their questions? #dtk12
Q8: In what ways can we incorporate this type of teaching and thinking in various subjects, such as math, where it may be more difficult to include? #dtk12
@TSkoby@6243_1 How do you hope to include your kids with this process? Do you think that high-school aged kids would be engaged with this process? #dtk12
@BarberLegendre I love the picture that you attached Stephanie! And thank you for the resource that we can look at in order to gain more insight on how to combine math with real world problems! Have you tried this in your classroom? #dtk12

@JasonTeaching ... My practicum is in Kindergarten, and I am trying to find ways to include technology into my lessons and make it meaningful to the students. I think learning games are great, but what else is there for young students to do?
@JasonTeaching I previously worked on a Hutterite Colony as an EA, where there is no access to technology. I am now trying to learn different ways to incorporate technology into my teaching in meaningful and authentic ways....
