Maharashtra Directorate NCC successfully concluded its first Cyber Defender Course 2026 in partnership with NIELIT, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, training 30 NCC cadets in ethical hacking, cyber defence, digital forensics, network security and cyber resilience. This pioneering initiative complements our Drone Training and Disaster Management programmes, creating a new generation of digitally empowered youth prepared to contribute to National Security, Cyber Resilience, Disaster Response and future technology-driven careers. Together, we are transforming NCC into a platform that develops future-ready leaders with the skills to serve the Nation in both the physical and digital domains.

Vice President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan was briefed on the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and Sainik Schools by Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth, along with senior officers of the Ministry of Defence today at Uprashtrapati Bhavan.

Appreciating the NCC's contribution to nation-building, the Vice-President described the Cadet Exchange Programme under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat as an excellent initiative for strengthening national integration. He also lauded the NCC's community service initiatives, including Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and welcomed the establishment of the NCC Alumni Association.

The NCC YEP 🇮🇳Delegation to the UK 🇬🇧concluded an action-packed day with rifle firing and laser skeet shooting, where cadets demonstrated exceptional marksmanship, precision, and concentration. The evening witnessed a grand Awards Ceremony, celebrating outstanding performances and exemplary leadership displayed throughout the programme. 🏅🇮🇳🤝🇬🇧
Out of 10 NCC cadets, seven won the medals in various field including Overall Best Cadet, Best Cadet in Field Exercise ,Best Cadet in Rifle Shooting, Best cadet in Air Rifle , Best cadet in Stalking, Most Promising cadet, Special Recognition cadet.

The programme concluded with a dignified Closing Ceremony, featuring the exchange of mementos as a symbol of mutual respect and enduring partnership. Cadets also exchanged souvenirs, commemorating the friendships forged and the shared experiences that made the Youth Exchange Programme a truly unforgettable journey.

Kolkata, West Bengal: Maj Gen Amar Pal Singh Chahal, ADG, NCC Directorate West Bengal & Sikkim, says, "The NCC Directorate West Bengal and Sikkim, headquartered in Kolkata, has nearly 1.2 lakh NCC cadets from the Army, Navy and Air Force wings. Of these 1.2 lakh cadets, around 40% are girls. The NCC is the largest uniformed youth volunteer organisation in the world. The responsibility of the NCC is to nurture, groom, motivate and develop the youth of the country into responsible citizens. In West Bengal and Sikkim, the NCC has a presence in every district and across various locations. Our cadets are present in 1,000 schools and 300 colleges..."

EK PED MAA KE NAAM. TREE PLANTATION DRIVE : NCC's Green Salute to the City of Joy

West Bengal & Sikkim NCC Directorate organized a mega plantation drive in Kolkata on 18 July 2026.

Hon'ble Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Minister Smt Agnimitra Paul and Hon'ble Forest Minister Shri Manoj Kumar Oraon, apart from other dignitaries and celebrities joined the Tree Plantation drive. On this occasion they pledged together to make West Bengal a greener place to live. They urged one and all to plant trees, and more importantly, nurture them.

ADG, NCC Dte West Bengal and Sikkim, alongwith more than 250 NCC cadets and 500 school children wholeheartedly participated in this mega sapling plantation drive at Park Circus maidan and made it an exemplary initiative towards a better and greener Bharat. This plantation drive was part of the overall ambitious plan of NCC Dte West Bengal and Sikkim to plant more than one lakh trees this year.
